Airplane engines operate at 70 to 80% max power in cruise flight for hours at a time. Automobile engines can only operate at 30% continuously or else they start overheating and suffering from premature failure.
They operate at 70-80% of their rotational speed not their power. At altitude a turbine engine is only producing about 30% of its rated max power and is 100-150*C below their max ITT or EGT limits.

I've never heard of anyone with rocker arm issues in the 6.2L. I'm sure it's happened, but there aren't 53 different threads about it on FRF either. The 6.2L simply does not have a common failure mode when compared to any EB engine.

You want to talk valve train failures, how about them whizbang hollow/mulit-piece camshafts in the EB? Seems like a great idea to me. It just screams long term durability compared to those crappy solid steel ones in the 6.2L.

You can add air bumps to prevent any frame issues, you can't do shit to avoid cam phaser failures.

Umm fuse #27, and what about the lead frame issues, exploding rear windows with the defroster....

Yes, those three things are "common" on all 09-14 trucks. #27 fuse is an easy fix. Mine was fine, but I did it as a preventative. Took about 20 minutes and $10. Ford extended the warranty on the lead frame, and it's easily replaced anyways. The rear window thing does suck, but I've never witnessed it in all the 09-14 trucks I've been around, it's covered by glass coverage on insurance if it happens, and if you are truly worried you just unplug one wire to disable defrost and the heated mirrors will still work. The broken glass in the truck is the worst part of these three failures by far IMO. I'd take any of these issues over internal engine issues all day long.

There will be a fix eventually we hope lol.

They never fixed the Gen 1 EB timing component issues. They just rolled out a new engine. They'll do the same with this one.

You all obviously don't read the fine print. Gen3 Raptors are going to come with a ls swap from the factory.

I hate all this gen1 vs. gen2 stuff, but let's at least be honest about it. The Fuse 27 issue is a $20 fix. Leadframe is covered by Ford, and I've never even heard about the defroster issue. Regardless, these are all minor issues that nearly every vehicle make will have over its lifetime. I'll take those issues all day long over a cam phaser issue, being a former 04-08 5.4 owner.
