Again- it looks to me like it has 1/2-1” taller ride height, wonder if this is truly going to be the case? I believe I read a TRX is 2-2.5” “taller” than the current Raptor, I do think the Raptor could use another 1” ground clearance min regardless how that translates to overall vehicle height

I may be extrapolating too much, but I think the fact that they leave the intercooler's air inlet uncovered is all we need to know about whether it has a 3.5 TT or a 5.2 SC.

The 5.2 has a heat exchanger as well, and it would only make sense to use the same location. So it’s possible it could be either engine.

Know anything we don't?

Only that I don’t see Ford giving up sales to RAM when they have the 5.2 Predator at their disposal. My best guess is that they’re going to offer both engines; the 3.5 HO as standard and the Predator as optional to compete with the TRX, with pricing to match.

powerboost 3.5 or a POSSIBLE 5.2 SCd as a halo model, and my guess if they do employ the V8 it won’t be the first model year of gen 3 raptor either

I still stand firm in preferring Fords EB/PB platform over a niche supercharged V8. And that WILL be a factor too- no doubt MOPARS BLOWN V8s have seen just a “little” more real world R&D......In other words, if you had to bet which SCd V8 platform would have more quality control issues all else being equal....clearly Ford is at a very large disadvantage in that dept since Mopar puts a hemi in everything lol!

btw - can only LOL @ the vacuum mindset where Ford can’t afford to “Give up” sales to Ram b/c they offer a V8....for a fairly limited production specialty vehicle....but we’re supposed to assume on the other hand Ford is fine to “give up” sales in the much larger & more lucrative market of full size SUVs & luxury vehicles.....all of which Ford puts exactly ZERO V8 engines in...yep Zip.

arent they worried about Escalade/Tahoe/Yukon/Durango/CTSv/CT6/charger/jeep GC/GC SRT/Armarda/Sequoia/Land cruiser/GX470 etc etc etc etc etc etc

well...are they worried? Sure as sh*t doesn’t seem like it lol!!

Ford has plenty experience with the SC V8. Think Gen 2 Lightnings, Terminator Cobra Mustangs, and the GT500 Mustangs. I think Ford will do just fine if they make a Gen 3 Raptor with the 5.2 SC V8.

Seeing this kind of competition is great.

lol- you’re bringing up circa ‘99-03 vehicles? Wtf?!? In the last decade & a half both Mopar & GM have offered far more factory V8 supercharged vehicles than Ford....let alone N/A V8s- Mopar been stuffing hemis in everything including their minivan & Durango suv!!

Jesus people never stop denying Fords aversion toward/transition away from the V8 platform - I don’t know why! It’s not up for debate- it’s there for the public to see!!!! They don’t offer ONE mid/full/large SUV w/ a V8!!!! Not ONE luxury vehicle w/ a V8!!! They offer 3 EB motors for the 1 V8 offering in their best selling 1/2 ton, an FE block V8 for their lower price point fleet trucks, & a few flavors of V8 for their bread & butter mustang....and if ya think they were so hot to trot for blown V8 performance than why on earth not keep that same recipe in their world beating halo supercar the GT

done having this convo or beating the dead horse again. It is obvious & shouldn’t need to be pointed out
