So say I plastidip my truck thinkin speed stripe! Won't it be a pain in the a$$ gettin it off the front grill with all the holes n stuff? Any body done this? I know I'd have to tape off behind grill as to not spray into rad. Any tips?

I bought 2 gallons and the Wagner sprayer from DYC dot com. I plan on pulling the grill, fenders, bumpers and wheels off to spray them all...off of the truck. I know they say it peels easily, but it's also pretty damn easy to take stuff off the truck to paint too...

I did my fenders today, they look alot better in black but I had a hard time getting the spray even, so I might have to redo it. Any tips?

Hold the can close and move fast. Start at one end and spray pass after pass to the other end. No going back and re-spraying. This stuff dries quick. You have to move fast and make your second pass while the previous pass is still wet.

Found best price at home depot. Don't remember the price, but it was a buck cheaper than lowes.

I have used it on a few projects, I have found that the temperature makes a difference, especially on a grille, if it is hot you will see it bubble and have a very rough texture.

make sure to clean the surface you want to cover very well, or it will peel. although I have only done it on road vehicles, so I can't give you any long term info on a offroad truck, but I have had it stay on a car for over a year now with no issues.

do not do a 1st coat heavy, lightly dust the 1st coat, and fill in and even out from there, the best part about this stuff is you can pull it off and start over.

Those of you that have done the flares, did you tape off the fender paint or just spray the whole thing and let the plastidip separate itself when you pulled it off the truck paint?

tape off about 1" away from the fender flare on the fender, and use newspaper it will save you alot of clean up and give you a very clean separation line when you pull it apart. make sure to clean down where the flare meets the fender for the cleanest result
