install tuner or keep warranty, looking for past issues

I REALLY want to get a 5 star tuner for my 2013 with 3K miles. I am not positive, but I am just assuming the warranty will be voided for most transmission and engine issues. My last truck was a 2004 F-150 w/ the 5.4L and it went almost 100K with only a coil pack going bad (at least as far as the drive line is concerned). Here are my thoughts,
If something is wrong with the engine or tranny from the factory it should rear it's head in the first 10K miles or so.
The trucks, unless I have missed something, are pretty damn reliable

So here is the argument, roll the dice and get the tuner and enjoy or play it safe and wait a year or two until the 3yr / 36K mile mark is met then install the tuner?

Please don't go with the Fu*K it argument of I paid 50 + for the truck and I can afford to pay for whatever goes wrong, I'm not that well off.

Looking for owners of 2010-2014 6.2Ls that have had problems, just to weigh the pros and cons.

The drive train warranty is 5/60,000 miles. Bumper to bumper portion is 3/36000

I have a 5 star, it does work great. You can take it back to stock before you take it into the dealership, but I believe they can check starts thru the sensor so you might get denied there.

one word though - passing emissions is turning out to be a challenge for me, not because I fail, but because i'm getting incompletes on 4 of the tests.

You have to look at the chances some major malfunction will happen during the warranty period. Once you load a tune they will know it regardless if you switch back to stock tune. The odds are way in your favor of nothing happening during your warranty period.

^^Famous last words! I myself wouldn't risk it.

To each his own but you think back to all your vehicles......how many had big time warranty issues during the warranty. The odds are in your favor of nothing happening but as you say.......it's a roll of the dice.

Lets see. I have had 3 PCM related issues on my new vehicles and I never tuned any of my trucks. You are taking a chance tuning your truck. Most likely you will not have a problem but if you dont tune your truck you do have a problem you will be glad you didnt tune your truck. 36k miles aint that long to drive the so called "shity" factory strategy. For me I love the truck as it is. I installed my old bumper on a members truck last year. He wasnt comfortable driving into my garage onto the hoist so I did it. He has a 5 star tune and man were the throttle controls touchy! I just barely touched the pedal and the truck jumped. Mostly All the tuner does is remove the throttle ramp up and change some trans shift points. That is not for me for my daily driver.
