I owned a 2008 Tundra Crew as well, a limited with all the options, and the Raptor is better in every category, and hauls everything I have just as good, boats, cars on trailers, atvs...only the Raptor is just a blast to drive. My MPGs run about 13, but I was getting 13.7 in my Tundra after about 110k miles. You will not regret the change at all, but the Tundra was a great truck, but the Raptor is FAR superior in every respect.
Thanks all for the welcome!
I have yet to drive or sit in one, but from what y'all are saying, it won't be something to worry about. The local dealer had a 2011 Black Crew the other day, and went to go see it this evening but was sold. I was gonna test drive, but can't now, obviously those things don't stay on lots long. I will contact some dealers to see what kind of deal I can get, but I have looked thru the ford website and only a few dealers around a 600 mile radius of me has any Raptors. So getting to test drive one might take awhile.
Mileage wise from what I'm hearing is fairly comparable, but I do like the larger tank, as most of the time I would get less than 300 miles on my 26 gallon tank. I think I will probably get one, but now need to decide if I want to get one now or wait for the 2013. Don't know of any expected changes, so may be the same truck and probably 4% increase in cost.
Thanks again for the welcome, and I'm sure I will be exchanging post with all of you from now on. Here is pic of my Tundra and boat.
