Trying to get a feel for how many of us are still waiting on 2021 trucks that are built. If so please post production date and eta from tracker.

I would be SOOO pissed If I was getting a 2021 in Jan/Feb of 2022 as your car is effectively a year old. if you are asking why. What is the value of a 2021 Raptor delivered in January of 2021 and driven for 1 year with low milage versus a 2021 delivered in Jan of 2022 with low milage. There is NO difference at all since there is no way to discern the two trucks in the resale market as valuation are almost entirely based on MY , then on milage, then on colors, then on options. Now take the 2022 that is delivered say in February of 2022 - the value will be 10-15% higher than the 2021 delivered a month earlier. I think the only way out of this is for those owners to either (a) accept they got screwed and suck up the loss or (b) sell the truck immediately since we are seeing unprecedented values on used cars that will certainly not hold past the next 12-18 months so you can probably still come out ahead for the time being.

Sell it and replace it with what? Another Raptor order that might show up in December 2022 so you can get all pissed off again? Or waiting until 2023 because no dealer has any 2022 allocations left? “Accept they got screwed” how? Literally every manufacturer is going through the same constraint right now. The local Toyota dealer which is massive finally has 5 new 2022s on the lot after not having a single new vehicle to sell for 3+ months - do I buy a TRD Pro Tundra and wait 18 months?

I’m thrilled my 2021 37 Package is arriving next month in the color I want that’s no longer available in 2022 and could give a **** less if it’s two months into the next year. I traded my 2018 Raptor for a 2021 TRX while I waited so it’s been a unique experience and to take my mind off it while I wait. If you’re that concerned about fractions of a percent in value loss you probably should just stick to buying used Camrys or Civics with 150K on them because you’ll never sleep at night.

Tried picking mine up today but ford did not do the recall before sending the damn truck . Now waiting on metal rivets instead of the plastic ones they had holding the heatshield already starting strong . Oh and 100 miles on the truck when it got off the transport truck ! Wtf . Who wants it? 100k it’s yours haha

Also, have the dealer check for any TSBs that require reprogramming any of the modules, like the Pro Power fan update. Your truck is shipped with the programming that was available when it went down the assembly line. My truck should be here in 2 or 3 weeks, the programming on it will be from October 11.

With a regular car sure, with a halo truck nah. While I was mad about this for both my MY21 First Edition Bronco and to a lesser extent my G80 M3 I've come to realize that the times we are living in are here to stay for the next 3 to 5 years at a minimum. There won't be a gradual "come down" in supply and demand until Americans can either stop their urges(lol not happening) or their wages come down. You're seeing $60k average household incomes because of labor shortages see $120k+ household incomes and spend spend spend. This trend won't stop soon.

The next reason outside of the economics is that IFKYK with the MY21 Raptor and in particular the 37 PP. This truck is fully loaded with options you won't get or see on the MY22 and for some this may be worth a premium. It reminds me slightly of how sought after my Avalanche Raptor with MyColor was when I sold it in late 2018. This was way, way before the upshot in used car prices obviously, this was when you could go get a brand new 2018 Raptor for 10k under sticker almost everywhere. People forget those days. Well I sold my 2017 for MSRP just because of the color combo and ford mycolor.

I see a similar situation with 37PP if Recaros become hard to ever get, people really want the illuminated stock interior colors/LEDs, and smaller things like digital displays on the temp Guage. MY21 for the Raptor could be a hidden gem if we ever find out how many 37s they actually ended up making.
