I've had a '13 Gen1 and now an '18 Gen2. I do miss the v8 sound but nothing else. the Gen2 is much more fuel efficient, adaptive cruise control is amazing, Love the truck. My local dealer sold it to me around $6k off sticker. I raced my Gen 1 against the Gen 2 and the Gen2 crushed it.

Thanks everyone for your responses and thoughts. Quick update, my truck still hasn't been found and I just come back from a local Ford Dealer where they had about 14 Raptors (mostly 19s.) I got to test drive a black one and it drove great. The exhaust note bother me, maybe I need time to get used to it. I think that is the only negative I can say about the truck. The dealer will not budge on MSRP for the 20s and only a few grand off for the 19s. I went just to look and gather info. There is a salesman in Fredericksburg TX that I have talked to and has confirmed he can do a 2020 at invoice.

Thoughts from a fairly new owner (6 months). First of all, I test drove the AT4, and Ram Rebel. I liked the Chevy 6.2 engine (I’m a V8 guy normally) and the Ram interior, but neither truck can touch the Raptor as an overall package. I obviously liked the Raptor when i bought it, but over the last six months I’ve come to love it.

I have a white 2019 SCREW with 802a package minus some of the popular options.
- I’m cheap, so I seriously looked at the 801a package. Wife talked me into the 802a and I’m glad she did. Love the vented and heated seats, 360 camera, led bead lights, sound system is pretty good (just my opinion).
-really glad I didn’t get graphics or moonroof...especially the moonroof which seems problematic while new and will likely get worse with age.
- wish I would have got the technology package, mostly for the adaptive cruise control. Would make this an even better road trip vehicle.
- biggest regret though is not getting the tailgate step. Would just make life easier and it’s an inexpensive option.

I purchased my 2014 from Jordan Ford in July of 2014 and all their vehicles are menu priced and the sticker on mine was $3500 under MSRP. At the time I was talking to Northside Ford and they were still asking $5000 over.

So you would recommend to stay away form the twin panel moonroof? I was thinking on getting this as I think the kids would enjoy it.

I haven't looked at Jordan Ford but i'll take a look. North side is actually the dealer I went to. They were friendly and helpful but they wont budge off MSRP.

Getting into any other 1/2 ton pickup after owning a Raptor would be a downgrade. The Raptor simply has no competition in the current marketplace.

It's a truck. And as I said most dealers are in **** mode around here.

All the guys I work with drive trucks and they damn near get a group circle jerk
going over my raptor daily.

Not sure why. yeah, it's a cool truck.

I probably dig how deceptively fast it is considering the size most.
Well, of course it is a truck. My point was that Ford and the dealers do not treat it as such. It's a specialty vehicle with no corporate incentives (unlike the rest of the trucks), and until last year or late 2018, folks generally had to scrap to get even a few g's off sticker.

OP, get the sunroof. Almost 40k miles, only issue I've had with mine is that every few months it will start to make some noise from the glass flexing in the rubber seals. A minute or two with some lubricant around the seals and it's quiet again.

I've decided I'm going with the 802A package for sure. I will most likely go with the twin panel moon roof and and tailgate step. Still debating color. My GMC was black and I kind of want to switch it up.

Hi everyone,

My 2014 Sierra Denali was stolen 2 days ago. I bought the truck new in Aug of 2014. It had the 6.2 engine and really enjoyed it. I guess it’s time to move on as I do not believe they will find it.

After 20 days the insurance company will cut me a check for the cash value and I plan to buy either a 2020 Raptor, GMC AT4, or a Chevy Trail Boss. I’ve always wanted a Raptor and even considered one before my Denali but at the time the mark ups were so high I could not afford one. Now that I’m further in my career and dealers seem to sale below MSRP I can now see myself purchasing one.

Few Questions:

I’m in San Antonio, Texas. Can you all recommend a dealer that I should work with and is known to offer a great price? I’m willing to travel if needed.

How much off sticker should I expect and shoot for?

What packages/options are a must in your opinion?

The V6 worries me. Should it? Still packs a punch?

Thanks everyone I appreciate all the help you can offer.

I would be more concerned about being in San Antonio than what engine to get.

This is not the first report of high end trucks being stolen around there. I don’t have the post on hand but there was someone who posted about picking up their Raptor and having it stolen at a hotel stop on the way home in SA if I recall correctly.

LoJack too old school? Do you even want it back if it gets stolen? Would be sad to get a Raptor and have that stolen too.
