Well I'm happy with MSRP right now because I need a truck now, but that being said if a V8 does come out in a few years I'll just update to the V8 at a price of 100K, its only money and my happiness means everything to me!

Ha! Exactly, gives me just enough time to put under 50K on the '17 gen2 raptor before trade-in.

Would the CF package clash with the Orange accent package, you think? Anyone get both?

I originally order the truck with both CF and accent package. Since seeing the CF design goes to the honeycomb with an orange hue, wasn't for me so I took off and left just CF option - saved a coup of bucks at same time

I wouldn't be against paying MSRP after the hype dies down but it would be on base model Super Cab more than likely. I need a truck but I'm willing to wait as I can make do for the time being. If I absolutely HAD to have a truck right now I would probably just go snag a TRD Pro Tundra for the time being. I definitely agree with it only being money though. Buy what makes you happy!

Ford did in fact trademark the name EcoBeast, but I'm not for sure if they can use this trademarked name on multiple products or not?...And they are already using it on a 2.xL 4cyl in the Focus. I saw this with my own eyes, not speculation.

Furthermore, the TTv8 you and everyone else speaks of FordPerf built a prototype of was for a non-DOT legal CobraJet with a Coyote 5.0, not the new 5.2 FPC engine design they already switched to for the current GT350 and speculated new GT500. There has been no leaks or officially released info to these rumors of a TTv8 in anything to date that I'm aware of, except in 2015 regarding the 2016 CobraJet.

FYI, Car and Driver just had an article I believe a few days ago where they spotted what they believe is the new GT500 that had the black covers to disguise it. Anddddd they reported it to be a twin turbo V8.

For anyone who is curious here is the article.

You'll be able to get it at invoice after people stop going nuts to buy it. And that article didn't report it to be tt so much as it questioned the reason for it being covered and posed the question of it being tt. A video later resulted in no turbo noises, but that doesn't mean it's not a mule motor for testing.

IF we watched the same video the driver also wasn't on the throttle very hard either. Are you talking about the video that ends where they drive back into the Ford facility?

No, the end of the video I watched ended with the driver driving away. You still likely hear some sort of spool or release blipping off and on the throttle, and the motor sounded n/a as opposed to the sound of exhaust having to pass through a turbo

At msrp, I'm not discouraged, who wants to pay more? I do not feel I'm getting the high hard one though either, sure plenty will disagree -glad we all have options. Over sticker is the line for me, dumb or not - it is my decision. That being said, there are sooo many other toys about to hit, total different caliber of vehicle-granted, but I'm in at that level in life...

Eh. Sometimes. Not always. I read through a lot of the comments and a good portion of them say they hear turbo at the start of the video. I have cheap computer speakers so there is no chance of me hearing a faint turbo noise. Cars are weird. I've heard plenty of turbo V8's that have had a n/a exhaust note but then there are cars like the Audi RS7 with a twin turbo V8 that are severely muffled. Hopefully they bring out a V8 to give everyone an option. I'm not alone in wanting a V8.

I honestly don't know how people can pay over MSRP for something just to have it right now. There is always a dealer willing to deal if you're willing to put in the time to find them. When the 14' Raptor supply was drying up I couldn't believe that people were paying $5-10K over sticker for one.

We can say it's debatable but I've owned a couple turbo cars and listened to the video on surround sound and can say in my opinion the motor was 100% not turbo. That doesn't mean it's the production motor though.

Granted it is Car and Driver a leading automotive publication, but everything about that entire article is speculation. The fact that they think Ford will release a TTv8 in a GT500 doesn't really mean that they would follow suit in the Raptor if they move forward with the 5.2 VooDoo as that is not a fitting application for the Raptor, nor produced currently in the GT350 nearly as wide spread as the current Gen1, up and coming TTv6 Gen2, or speculated TTv8 Gen2.5.

Don't get me wrong I'm all in favor of each of those options and hope something similar is revealed, but it's just ridiculous that magazines and other media companies, forum members, and the like speculate and start their own rumors. Ford will probably be releasing more info publicly later this year at SEMA as they usually do and I attend every year so I'll see just what's in store at that time.
