I tow a lot so I had my local Ford dealer perform a transmission fluid flush at 41k miles. They assured me that it was not a sealed tranny and Ford allows a tranny flush. Did tranny flush.
I drove the car for 25 miles and gears 8-9-10 slipped a little when engaging. Temp steadily climbed to 238. I limited it to 7th gear with paddles and drove it straight back to dealer. It cooled to 225 indicating overdrive gears were causing it to overheat. Pulled in at dealer looked underneath and it was spraying tranny fluid.
Dealer said they did a cursory check and it was overheating causing fluid to come out of the pressure valve on top of tranny. They need their tech to come in on Monday to do a full diagnosis.
Dealer is an ass and was very casual and unapologetic about the whole thing.
Should I call Ford corporate? Any ideas on what they could have effed up while doing a simple flush?
