How do you plan on changing it? You do realize that there is no typical dip stick and you will probably have to pump it in.

How many miles are on the truck? Why do you think it needs changed?

5 liters seems low. You are supposed to take it to the dealer to get changed. They do it through A cooler line I think.

Remember its Mercron SP. Not the easiest stuff to find outside of a ford dealer.

Just a quick clarification here.
The trans. fluid type for the the 6R-80 is Mercron LV fluid not SP.
I no there is much debate on changing trans fluid types (Torqo, RedLine, ECT)
But my Recommendation is to keep it stock always..
I have talked with many an Trans engineer over the years ( I work in a Ford trans plant) and it always comes full circle to stock trans fluid...Many reasons why but basically Ford spends A LOT of money in engineering to make this fluid for this trans.
A complete trans fill will take 13qt (12.3L). To do a pan drop You will need 3.5 qt (3.3L) to get the truck moving again. The reason I say this is because the truck needs to be driven and the trans has to be up to temp. and running to make your final adjustment. You will need a hand pump as stated above.
Hope this helps..

if your not doing it yourself with all the info and knowledge needed, take it to the dealer this is not something you want just anyone doing.as stated above the correct fluid and direction of change is very important.

It's all good Trey... I know you know..
My numbers come straight out of the Ford Service manual.
There are few different things going on with all this.
First you have to make sure that the tran's is operating correctly when you take it out for you warm up...There is the possibility that the Torque Converter and trans cooler can start to drain when the pan is down..There is a check valve to prevent this but they have been known to leak.( mine does) If this happens and the valve leaks bad your fluid level will be way to low even for a test drive and damage can occur. This will shown with a slip and or a very erratic shift during warm up..
Another thing here is the temp.... The trans has be up to 185* F + so the thermostat that controls flow to the cooler is open. Again this is to make sure all air is purged from the system..
As stated by others If you don't trust this guy find someone else. The life of your trans depends on it...
