Damnit so much for my plan of flushing my damn transmission fluid my self and adding a larger pan for it.

:( guess im gonna have to take it to a stealership to get it done.

Don't let me scare you my friend...
To do a pan drop is not a big deal...
You just need a hand pump to get the fluid back in and make sure you recheck the fluid level with the truck hot and running on level ground....I can scan the procedure from the book if you would like...But that really summed it up.
The dip stick (yes there is one) is on the right side of the trans It looks like a big bolt on the top of the pan rail. It points straight up.
There are only 2 concerns with doing this..
1. The ex. pipe is right there so don't burn your self or melt the tube on your hand pump.
2 Make sure you have a trusted person in the drivers seat when your laying under your truck with it running. (Probably NOT a good idea to put a wife in there that just found the receipt for your new bumper she new nothing about)
If you are looking to do a true flush correctly you will have to take it in..They will hook a machine up to the trans cooler and change out ALL the fluid...It's the only way to get it all out short of pulling the trans..lol

A machine is required. Dropping the pan is a waste of time because you cannot get all of the fluid out it may make you feel better but it is still not doing the job right.. There is a thermostat that must be at temp before the fluid will cycle through. I switched mine out with Amsoil.

The guy stated 5 wits it ltrs is probably just dropping the pan. That is about all you will get out of system when you drop the pan. That's y you have different answers.

Yeah my plan is to switch over to amsoil, so the full flush will be required/wanted.

*sigh*

Might as well order up those stainless brakelines and new pan from SDHQ.
