its the katrina from hornblasters. it came with 5 trumpets, but i could only fit 3. used the smallest, middle, and largest. still sounds like a train. i had lex motorsports build me a bumper and they put provisions to mount the horn there for me.

Thanks. I guess I still have some exploring to do. I would love a set of train horns if I can figure out how to tuck them away. If I can't, at least now I know of some nice direct drive horns.

My issue is i’m concerned about beating up the tank and possibly the compressor off road. I know I can get a snorkel for the compressor, but I’m pretty sure most of the horn blasters installs are no trucks that are way more for show than for go. I don’t operate my Raptor Operationally as much as I’d like but i do go off road and do some things that concern me about the train horn install. Maybe I’m being paranoid here.

Funny story. My wife and I went to a "RE Open Maine" rally today. She had seen a video on train horns and said no way you're putting one on your Raptor. Well with all the horns blaring around the Capital, we keep hearing a VERY loud horn...I knew what it was. It was going the other way and when it went by us "BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP". She whoops it up and asks what that is? I told her a train horn. She says 'You're putting one on the Raptor!". I married the right gal!

i believe there is still room on the gen 2s to mount a couple tanks on the passenger side frame rail. thats where i have 2, 2.5 gallon tanks on my gen 1. also there is room above the spare for a 2 gallon tank. i have a 4th tank in my bed for a total of 10cubic feetof air. i also have 4 compressors mounted in my bed. the train horn is mounted to my aftermarket front bumper above the skid plate

Holy crap! And you think I have issues.

Yup, I have them. They weigh in about 118db, significantly louder than stock. i still want more, but these things do wake up the BDC’s (brain dead cagers for you non bikers)

So we meet again...........and on a thread I didn't start! Any who, a few questions;

1) How was the installation? IE, Can an idiot like me figure it out?
2) Where did you mount the horns?
3) Do they put much of a draw on the battery with continued use? Say at a political rally?
4) Should I have started a new thread and called it something like, "Are you *****?".

Did you end up doing this?

***To everyone else.....I'm searching an old thread!!!

I didn't do it yet, but I did do a real good look to see about mounting. It looks like a real bitch, unless I'm missing something. I haven't found a good spot where it looked like I could do a clean install, still have good front sound projection, and also have a little protection for the components.

We'll see what Smurf says. Thanks

what they say is true. I type your (user) name, and you appear. :evil27:

1) How was the installation? IE, Can an idiot like me figure it out?
Install was more time consuming than difficult. You need a plan.

you have to account for mounting both compressors which sounds easy but isn’t as easy as all that. I figure this works until I get a train horn.

2) Where did you mount the horns?

currently in front of the i/c

3) Do they put much of a draw on the battery with continued use? Say at a political rally?

You have 2x compressors rated at ... 20A IIRC, and they’re direct drive so pretty immediate. They’re also more powerful than the much ballyhooed Wolo direct drive - I tried them too. The Marco puts out a resounding 117db constant and peaks around 119db. The stock horn was pathetically powered at about 95db.

4) Should I have started a new thread and called it something like, "Are you *****?".
:chillpill:

All in all, I’m satisfied with the Marcos, they’re a significant improvement over stock and instant on.
