Trade the 18 or Not

So as of right now I have a 2018 raptor pretty much fully loaded. Sticker was about $73k. The truck has been amazing, so much that in about 12 months I've put 23k miles on it. I have a local dealer that will give me 59k on trade and sell me the exact truck, color and all but a 19 for $68k..since MSRP has gone up that truck stickers for $75k.

Curious to hear thoughts...I havent seen the raptors discounted this heavily before and I think the trade number is strong and might be at the peak of what I can get.

Does the '19 have the new interior with Recaro seats? I like the new shocks, but I would only do it if it has the new interior as well.

It does not...its ruby red so that interior in my opinion would clash.

I tossed the idea around of trading my 18 for a 19 because of the shocks. In the end I decided against it. I typically keep my vehicles for 5-7 years which makes getting into a new one that much more exciting. Typically that means an entirely new generation of vehicle with upgraded everything.

If it was mid 2018 and I was in the market for a Raptor, I would certainly wait until 2019 to buy, but having a 2018 already and with the crap I've already put on there, the effort of taking what I can off and installed on the 2019, coupled with rebuying stuff I can't transfer (tints/PPF) plus the loss on the trade, makes those live valve shocks far less enticing than it would have otherwise.

What has you interested in the 2019? 0 miles on the odometer, live valve shocks, etc.? Personally, I don't feel there's enough changes between the '18 and '19 to pull the trigger on the exact same truck, but to each his own.

Same here. I got a 2018 with 18K miles in February for $58K + some mods and i could have gone for a 2019 ~ $10K more minus mods. I guess someone in a similar situation that you are in pulled the trigger and I got lucky on the other site.
Not worth it for the new shocks. Better wait for the V-8 if it ever comes out.

Good question...I think a lot of it is 0 miles, the shocks are an added bonus. Always great to have new things, but other than that, I agree, not enough reason to switch to essentially the same truck.

that’s a tough nut, it sounds like a not too bad deal. Do you have a cr@p ton of mods to deal with? has your truck been pretty reliable?

If you have the $$$ and the 0 miles thing really does it for you, what the heck?

I think it might depend on what state fees are also. In California, they would be north of 5K. I love my 19, but never driven an 18. BTW, I heard a lot about the brakes on Raptors being sub-par, my 19s are fine. The Lemon Laws in California calculates fair market value for mileage at about $.50 per mile, anything less than that is a fair deal.

I did the same thing but I did get a different color. I went from Leadfoot to Performace Blue. There are more changes than the shocks. I for one welcomed in the Stop & Go Adaptive Cruise Control.
