Toyo RT or KM 3’s

Yes, I had a set of 35's and they were terrible. I read shortly after I picked them up that anything over 33" for that tire were very difficult to balance correctly. I had bad vibrations the entire time I owned them and took them back multiple times to get them rebalanced. They seemed to be okay on snow and ice and I drove off road with them multiple times. They seemed to be a decent tire in those regards, but I was so annoyed by the constant vibrations that I didn't care. Our local shops don't warranty MT tires, so I was SOL for getting them replaced. That's one reason I switched from the Toyo MT's to the Toyo RT's is for the warranty.

That’s good to know, I was considering the G/Y, but sounds like I should stick with the Toyo’s. Thanks for the info.

When the GYs first came out, many of the Jeep guys switched. A lot of problems later, most do not run them. I would stay away from them.

I was looking at Goodyear’s Wrangler MT/R w/Kevlar ...Has anyone tried these?

I really like the Goodyear MT/R for a offroad only truck, I’m on the second set on my Bronco. Traction on rocks and loose stuff is awesome, I wouldn’t choose them for a daily driven truck because of the noise. On my current set 3 of them balanced with 2-4oz, one took 17 oz and that was after spinning the tire on the rim. I’m going back to stock Raptor 315/70R17 KO2’s on the Bronco next time around due to cost.

I have run the Toyo RTs 37” since day one and am happy with them - except in wet hard surface they slide terribly so be careful. Had no issues off road.

One more tire I was investigating was Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 40,000 mi warranty, only a slight difference in performance from the BFG KM3

If ur wanting M/T a buddy of mine runs the yokahama geolander MT and has had nothing but praise for them. Said they do great in everyday driving, held their own this winter in snow and ice and hook up great in the loose sloppy stuff. He only has 12-15k miles on them but they look almost new. So seem to be holding up well!

As reference he has ran toyo, bfg, and nitto. Said he prefers these by far. The other M/T I've heard great things about is the General X3's. You can get them in C or E where yokahama is E only.

I have 38k on my KM3. They look great but there performance on dry and wet pavement isn't very good and there loud as shit. I had toyo mt awhile back and there about the same tire. KM3 is a bit lighter. The KO's IMO are a better every day tire.

I've ran the KM2, KO2, in the past. I was also interested in the KM3 but it was just released and was lacking reviews. I'm a big fan of Cooper STT Pro. Great looking tire, clears mud well, quiet on the road, long wear life, was 3 lbs lighter than the KM3 and is cheaper in cost.

Good looking tire. Mixed reviews on the noise. Some youtube vids don't sound too loud. Some howl quite a bit.

I had Toyo R/T‘s and MTs on my last Raptor and currently have KM3s on my new Raptor. The R/Ts are a great all around tire and very quiet on the road. The KM3s are also great all around but have more bite when offroad. They are also a little bit louder on the road but not as loud at Toyo MTs.
