I’d be taking a look at that 801 truck you were talking about. At the end of the day, nothing except the PSD is going to feel as strong as the HO 3.5, and nothing is going to ride better than the Raptor. Nothing is going to have as good of resale value except possibly the diesel. So you won’t have the tailgate step or pain in the ass sunroof. Whoop de do. I believe you can add the bed lighting and remote start through the dealer. Otherwise, if you don’t act fast, it sounds like you’re going to be stuck with something you’re not 100% satisfied with.

My previous truck was a 2012 Ram Power Wagon (5.7L Hemi with 4.56 Gears). When I replaced the Power Wagon, I was considering three vehicles:
- 2020 Ram Power Wagon
- 2020 Ford Tremor with the 7.3L and 4.30 Gears
- 2020 Ford Raptor

The Power Wagon and the Tremor were actually pretty similar in driving characteristics when on pavement. I ended up going with the Raptor because I wanted something different (the truck before the Power Wagon was a 2004 HD Hemi that I had put some mod money into). After 16 years of HD Truck Driving (and truly never needing the HD truck) I just wanted something sporty and more comfortable.

Honestly for a HD Truck, the Tremor rides pretty dang nice. While not as fast off the line as a Raptor, I sure didn't think it felt sluggish, and I felt like it turned really well for a HD truck. It's true that the Tremor is bigger, and finding places to park would be a little harder, but I honestly didn't give that too much thought. I'm guessing my next truck will be a HD truck again just because I like having the HD platform, but for now I'm really happy with the Raptor. As nice as the Tremor is, I sure couldn't fault somebody for going that route.

I traded in my Raptor earlier this year for a F250 since I haul my trailers a lot and needed the extra bed space. I prefer a diesel over a gas as well since all of our company trucks are diesel as well. Raptor is nice but wasn't able to tow like I needed. I would have kept it if it wasn't for that. I am currently in the process of upgrading the suspension on the 250 to a Kelderman air lift since I do tend to put a lot of miles both on road an off-road on my trucks. The ride of the stock 250 is much different than the Raptor and that was something I missed.

It really depends on what you use you truck for, if it is to mainly play off-road then I would go for another Raptor. If you are using it for work and hauling hard to beat the new Super Duty. Off-road trail riding for me is on ATV's or a horse.

@Badgertits Wow I just did a quick search and there isn't a whole lot for sale when it comes to new Raptors in our area

I got the last 801a w/ leather within 400 miles @ Quirk Ford, I was searching ME/NH/CT/PA/NJ etc - as I mentioned kept running into 4-5 trucks that had the sh*t rocky ridge crap on em & they were actually discounting A couple of those a little b/c I think they knew they F’d up putting it on there. Then any decently optioned 802a’s were ALL marked up $2.5k-$8k over msrp from ME to NY, I got this for $1200 under MSRP + a tri-fold tonneau cover (Woopty doo!)

it stickered like $1k less than my totaled 2018 801a

lost bed step/panoroof/box lights, picked up lane keep assist, the full digital gauge cluster, live valves/torsen diff/WiFi (std now but wasn’t for MY18)

overall pretty happy - glad I’m back in a Raptor & didn’t just settle for something else. I like this color much better & the live valve shocks def ride better, I’m kinda happy not having the roof even though I liked using it I didn’t like maintaining/cleaning it for peace of mind & always worrying itd leak or get misaligned driving hard offroad etc

threw in a requisite GT pic for the hell of it- not for sale lol!! I like the color a lot

I honestly didn’t read your post or anything while I was sitting @ the dealer ;-) but yeah- that was the “advice” I needed. Done deal- last one of its kind in the northeast!
