3 cylinders not holding compression…no way they can claim ignorance and that these symptoms weren’t present when it was in their possession. No idea where to go from here. Dealer still claims they will make it right, repair the current motor or drop in a remanufactured one. Mechanic says the teardown will cost more because of labor. I asked the dealer if I can just bring the damn thing back and take my Gen 3 back. It might be an option but won’t know until they talk to the finance guy to see how far the paperwork has progressed on this deal. Devastating news. Never would have imagined this would happen. I know how great these trucks are and was confident I was getting a low mileage truck that would last me forever. I wonder if the damn thing was supercharged and returned back to stock. I can’t fathom how else such a low mileage truck would have this type of failure.

That REALLY SUCKS...I feel for you..!! and hopefully the dealer will stand behind it...what a mess!! Cant really blame a supercharger....mine came from Shelby brand new with a Supercharger and 70K later still a good strong 6.2 Engine (knock on wood)..!!

So..... that's either piston rings or the heads, correct? If the valve springs on 3 cylinders were damaged,, (a known 6.2L issue), it wouldn't even idle. But other damage to bearings, the pistons, etc., is still unknown.

Would examining the plugs help to confirm if they had been hotter plugs, gapped differently for a S/C?

Yeah they wouldn’t really know the extent unless they tear it down, they just know right now 3 are not holding compression.
