CAn't you relocate the back-up cam?

Yeah, you can relocate the cam. A.D.D. Is working on a custom version like that. The TireGate one is nice, but I'm sure A.D.D.'s is gonna be much more sick than something off the shelf. I'm gonna wait and see what they do.

Curious too.... Sounds like they'll make their's with pins on both sides that double as hinge pins...that can be removed on either side to pivot either way ?? Good idea.

Tiregate's website talks about patented or patent pending...wonder what the nature of those patents are and if they can easily be designed around?

Pics from ADD can't be long now...

I haven't seen one up close - but I would figure the tire gate would be a bolt on item?
If so, I would get it and use on the occasional weekend tour - but run with the tailgate (love my cam too) on at other times.

First. Free is awesome. But i like your idea about using for the occasional weekend. If it is easy bolt on, get it, and do this.

So, I've been on the fence about this for quite some time and haven't been able to make up my mind. I am fortunate enough to have a Tire Gate at my disposal (at no charge) thanks to the kind folks at Theodore Robins Ford in Costa Mesa, CA (shameless plug..i know :))

The cons to the gate is that I loose my back-up camera which is a huge help in navigating parking spots. Also, the bed extender for hauling is something I would miss out on as well.

The pros are pretty simple... I think they look sick!

I'm eager to hear everyones feedback on this.
IMO it all depends on your plans for the future!
How are you planning on setting up your bedcage? Are you thinking about adding a spare to the shock hoops or keep the 2 separate?

Don't know if any of these pics in the link below will help you or not, but there are lots of pics to look through to give you an idea if your not dead set on a design

Sorry guys. I've been sick. I will get pics up asap.

Is that what the holdup is on finishing my front bumper?!?

Just ****** with ya! Excellence takes time and quality work is MUCH more important to me than turnaround time. Hope you feel better soon Ryan. Can't wait to see what you come up with for a tire gate/cam solution.

Bedcages

I'm leaning towards keeping the two separate so that way I can keep the majority of my bed space open.

Thanks for the link...talk about a variety of options!

Sorry it took so long to get the pics up. Here is our tire holder. These are pics of the tire holder raw with out powder coat and with out the reverse cam set up in it. I should have it all back from powder coat today so I will try to get pics of that up.
