The differences between the RPG fox's and the icons is more apparent at normal driving speeds off road.
At high speed, they both kick ass. The fox's droop out quicker for a bit more control, but the icons take a massive front hit (endo !) a bit better.
At lower speeds, the digressive damping of the icons and high spring rate becomes painfully obvious on washboard and choppy sections. Not as good of an offroad daily driver, but perhaps better if all your daily driving is on high quality paved roads. There is lots more damping happening at ride height with the icons vs the fox's. So less body roll and more road "feel".

Wondering.....do you think that one would experience the same bump in performance over the stock setup when running 35's?

Definitely! My truck transformed over night at the first TRR. having run the track a few times on stock suspension, then going to the stage 4+ for the next day was a huge difference. I was easily able to go 10 to 20 mph faster with the same set of balls.

Also at havoc, I took a few guys for rides. They were surprised how fast I was going over the rocky stuff and how the truck was able to handle it. I still have stock 35" tires.

I also drove all three TMX trucks but at a diff event(Texas Offroad ranch) and at med speeds (about 45 mph) all three trucks felt safe and stable as you pushed harder and the diferances started showing themselves. at about 55 mph the king and icons equiped trucks were a handfull to keep on the track the bumps were soaked up with no issues but the rear ends were so loose i was going from one slide to another while trying to build more speed. on the same track and same sections with the RPG setup i was hitting over 70 and have hit 80+ in another truck with the same suspension. the ride was a rough one at that speed but it was stable and correction were doable without fishtaling. I know i know i drive like a little old lady so take it for what its worth.

side note i keep hearing that the icons will keep up when " properly adjusted" but damn if ive found anyone that has them adjusted.

Out of the 2 guys in HARO that have them all I hear is them talking about how they need to adjust them...and then never do!

I love the idea of adjustability, I just don't think that I would actually ever use it.

Yea the whole thing of adjusting them easily is nice and all but seriously if they're adjusted right you won't need to keep adjusting the shocks! And I have yet to hear someone who has found that amazing sweet set up on the icons as well! Lol

Should have rode in my truck at Havoc. I change nothing when going from the street to the dirt.

And the ride is incredible. Ask Big Blue, Ironman, Kevin, Dustin, Ted or any of the # of people that went out on the truck with either Heather or Myself.

No setup can do everything and you have to make sacrifices at the expense of something. I've seen people with fox 3.0's trying to adjust their shocks to try to deal with the high speed big whoops/jumps that the West side of Michigan offers on certain trails. There is a reason Fox is not putting quick adjustments on shocks.
