Thanks. It sounded pretty standard the dealer getting at least rail info. Your dealer should be able to do same.

Side note, I feel for the owners who's trucks are just sitting in the yard. Hopefully mine isn't sitting in a shipping yard out of NM!?

The trucking co. is also out of NM where the rail delivered the Raptor. The Raptor is getting trucked into CO from NM.

Again, hopefully it will arrive in the next 48 hours or less. My dealer made it sound like it would arrive today/tonight....but most likely tomorrow.

That's the latest.

The dealer must be close to me, we get all our Fords that ship by rail trucked from Albuquerque. That's the closest rial yard to sw co. Trucking company name is Sierra Mountain Express.

Thanks for the shipping co. info. My dealer is out of SW CO....and I'll pass on their name once I take successful delivery hopefully later this week.

Speck,
Wow, my Shelby was built 04/07/10, and didnt leave the railyard until May 2, but made it out to Vegas pretty darn quick.

There was a PCM issue with the first 5.0s built and mine was a pre-production car. I thought it would be out even sooner, as I know some folks up there and got them to classify it as "hot", whatever that means, still took almost a month. My GT500 was built on 12/10/07, and I didnt get it until 1/3/08.

What I will tell you as a seasoned veteran of watching the railcar website for hourly updates, it took about 12 days to get it from plant to local yard here in San Antonio, but it was over the holidays as well. I would figure 8-10 days once it hits the railcar.

The actual workings of the Dearborn and Flatrock plants are: The cars and trucks get built, but are then pulled across the street into a yard where they await enough vehicles to load a set of railcars.
Then, in order of easiest access, they get loaded on the railcars, not even in order of how they were built. In other words, first in may even be last out loaded, but consider that there would be a difference of a day or two at most.

The first time I waited for my gt500 to be built, I was very impatient and going through what you are feeling. The second time, the Ford build took even longer, but I knew what I was getting into. It wasnt half as bad. That car's wait didnt even start until Shelby got ahold of it. They didnt finish my car until October 15, so I had to wait over 6 months for it to be built, and if you count that time from when I dropped 15k deposit down January 15, 2010, it was a 10 month wait! But still, it was worth every second.

The Raptor I wanted instant gratification....found one on a lot, and just went and made a deal!

How in the world can the regional Ford sales rep tell me that the Raptor gets built as a regular F150 and then shipped to SVT to get turned into a Raptor. I know it gets built on the same line just from reading this board. There is a Youtube video showing Raptors and F150 on the same line. Technology means you have to up your game because consumers no longer have to believe the BS they are told.

Why are you still worrying about it? I thought you were getting a Chevy...

Already driving the Chevy smartass! Driven Ford diesels for years. Switched to Duramax 5 years ago. Love the truck and am keeping it anyway. Raptor is going to be a toy. At some point it seems smart to give up on the 12 and get in early on a 13. Let your new truck sit in the shipping yard for 3 weeks and see how you like it.

I am pissed beyond belief! Regional Ford rep tells my dealer that truck is built as f150 and then shipped to SVT to be turned into a Raptor. Complete ********. Just got off the phone with SVT and they said my truck was built on 1/4 but is still sitting on the frickin lot in Dearborn. They have no explanation as to why. At this point this damn truck is not worth dealing with the morons that cant get their shit together. My dealer will have one available when it comes in because I am going to stay with Chevy.

Did your regional ford rep tell your dealer that, or did your dealer just say he was told that by the regional rep?

I bought mine from Randy, but I stopped by the dealership my truck is being drop shipped to and the guy who recieves the drop shipments tried to feed me the same line. That oh the Raptors are built as f150's then shipped off to antoher company (not even SVT, another company lol) to turn them into Raptors. I tried for all of 10 seconds to correct him but he kept going on about it, so I gave up and walked out, pointless trying to explain any further.

But just because the salesman or regional rep doesn't know any better, no reason to bail on the truck.

Trust me after waiting since AUGUST 26th for my truck, and still waiting for it (thankfully in transport now), if there were any other comparable vehicles out there, I would have already given up a long time ago. But stay with Chevy, and the joke is only on you. You're not going to have anything in the same class as the Raptor from Chevy or Dodge rolling off the assembly line. You're in the home stretch now, and as much as the wait absolutely sucks, once it DOES actually ship, you're pretty much a guaranteed 7-10 days out from recieving it.

As mentioned above, the shuffle of trucks into the holding pen can screw over other ones that were built 1st, but shipped later. And coupled to the fact that it also ties into train schedules. If there were no trains headed to your yard, or yours missed that train going to your yard by a couple trucks, then jambed up in a corner again, then it can cause unknown delays.

All last week, nearly every raptor was built and shipped within 24 hours. Mine? HA! It was built, then stuck in the holding pen for 4 days before it finally got out.

They know exactly why your truck is sitting there, you will never know though.

Same thing happened with my 08 Shelby. Build date came and went, scheduled date came and went.

You think it's bad not knowing where your vehicle is. Try sitting in the corner office staring out the window and seeing carrier after carrier bringing vehicles to the lot, and looking / hoping, for it to not be there.

It was nearly 1 month after my scheduled delivery date before I got my Shelby.

It was held there for some reason. There is a hold on a part, a quality control issue, the truck got nicked, something.

Like I said, you will never know, even at the dealership level, they won't tell us anything. One day it will magically show up.

I am not bailing on the Raptor. I was just really pissed this morning when they were telling me things I knew were false. Sorry to vent on this board. You guys are just the only ones that understand. I want this truck so bad its like a curse that I cant get it here. I thought waiting on the build date was difficult. Knowing I have a built truck just sitting in some parking lot is the worst.
