Guys,,

The relationship between me and my tires FACTORY BFG AT KO! has reached the breaking point.. I may have the opportunity to get rid of them once and for all. The issue is I can't get a straight answer about replacements since tries seem to be the most subjective subject short of what truck should i buy.

Right now, I lose entire tread blocks in 50 miles of trail travel..

my conditions

Arizona
1. Rocky Trails, sharp rocks, back roads, rock gardens, etc.
2. washboard and rocky Forest Roads, High and low speed
3. HWY trips, Las Vegas, CA, ETC
4. some snow in winter at high elevations, some ice on hwy here and there.
5. daily driver!

Sizes Want to go 35 on stock rim will go mid perch..

Tires I have considered..

Toyo open Country MT! most every video i see on the net guys are running this on hard rocky areas.

Goodyear MTR, Border Patrol and Local Police Raptors all sporting this tire.

General Red Letters, Heard this tire wears out FAST on the street

Good Year Duratracks

BFG KM2, Heard they pop like a cheap balloon on rocks.

Baja, Understand this is the best of the best, but whats the daily driver like with these and how about rock crawling.

Any others?

Please give me load specs also, as I am new to that aspect of tire buying..

And what is the real deal with ROTATIONAL MASS! Red Letters going to drive like I lost 50HP?

Thanks,

Brett

I am sold on my Goodyear Duratracs. From mud, rain, snow, rocks.. From Nebraska to Texas.. From everyday driving to Texas Raptor Run they have not let me down.

They are nice and quiet (at least first 10,000 miles) then i got lazy and neglected rotating them.. The front started getting chopped up. And the noise has increased. No fault of the tires... I have been extremely happy with them and will buy them again!

I have had the following and this is how I rate them for a DD.

BFG All Terrain
Nitto Trail Grappler
General
Baja

For my off road rating just reverse the order. I have heard good things about the Toyo and the Goodyear Duratrac but haven't had the pleasure of running those. For an all around tire that does everything well those two are probably your best bet...JMO

So Greg,
For daily driving if they are rotated properly are they as comfortable as the stock ones or close? I really like the look of these

I have had:

-Stock BFG's (mine were defective and wore out in 7,000 miles and were replaced under warranty by Ford, the new ones are sitting in the garage)

-35" General Grabbers (way too heavy and I hated how the red letters faded to pink. Nice grip in the desert, but the tread did wear down fairly fast)

-37" BFG KM2s (I've only had them on about 2 weeks and need to finish trimming up my fenderwells before I can offroad them... But so far I like them)

Would go with the Goodyears if you want a more aggressive tire. Stay away from the BFG KM2's they do pop like baloons lol. Been there done that.

On my Raptor I've ran the stock tires, General Red Letters and currently run Toyo Open Country MT. The Toyos are amazing...which are why we run them on our TMX Raptors.

Either way, we can get you a good deal on whatever tire you want to go with...shoot us a PM for some pricing.
