That is terrific. The barrel lock is an excellent idea.

Would somebody like to post a photo of their Ford locking gas cap for the Raptor? I'm curious about how theft proof it really is, what kind of lock it has, etc.

Last weekend we were assigning you homework, and now you're assigning us homework?

Now don't go out and have a key made...

No e30 availible around here. The Street bike, boat, lawnmower, presurewasher etc. sit for 9 months at a time. I'd have straight varnish if I didn't use something. Then the snowblower, snowmobile, etc. in the sit in the summer. Same deal.

yes if you don't have e-30 you have to put the dreaded stable in but that stuff is whats hard on your seals gaskets.

I on the other hand am able to use e-30 and never put any thing in the said above items only e-30 10+ years push mower, boat, car's, pickups, farm trucks the bigger ones, weed eater had a weed eater so long the cable finally gave out the motor was still running like a top but are still going at that time only e-10 but the weed eater now 14 years old on e-30, 1973 Pontiac lemans, my raptor 4,500 miles 14.5+mpg

stable has methanol in it and methanol dose eat rubber and is hard on stuff.

ethanol so safe you could drink it in it's puer form

I think subconsciously I'd feel "safer" for whatever reason.. Having a cap on it? But functionality wise, I think it's better without one.

But to be honest... Mine never gets dirty, I don't have any problems with it all... Just don't have to unscrew anything to fuel up... And no stupid lid flapping around against my paint , because of a poor fuel cap latch design. Used to drive me up the wall, with my last car... The cap would never sit on the latch that it was supposed to be on, because the cheap plastic connecting piece... had too much tension, and it would always pop off, or just fall off because the hook wasnt big enough. (Thanks GM)

Anyway, my verdict on the capless setup.... No harm no foul. I have no desire to fork up any money to fix what aint broke.

That said, if prices keep climbing and my neighborhood jumps in on the stealing fuel from your neighbor thing... I may be singing a different tune.
