Please elaborate why do I need to upgrade the oil pump?

Because at the amount of horsepower your getting the oil pump will definitely break.
I have the whipple and before any other upgrades just whipple and headers and I broke the oil pump twice
The oil pump feeds oil to the engine and the first component to break after the oil pump is the crank shaft because it would be running without oil and the upgrade is relatively cheap. Think about it like its insurance trust me crank shaft swap will cost you a bit of cash

Thanks! Will look into it. I had pretty much similarly built Hummer H2 with over 600 hp at the wheels. Never had any issues with the oil pump, but will definitely look into this.

I have inquired if the Shelby Raptor has any upgrades to the oil pump or drive shaft. No one can say. They assume those parts are stock...

its recommended to all supercharged engines , high torque can damage the stock gears on the pump , billet oil pump gears give you peace of mind . its not mandatory but for few hundred $$$ you protect your investment .

Is there a specific type or model for this? I have a "stock" Roush, but I am planning n tuning it up with a JDM tune. Makes sense to upgrade the oil pump.
