Just replaced mine. Props to Crystal at Ford for helping out big time. Mine was out of warranty. On the one that wasn't working, i pulled the inner part of the light out away from the bezel/lens hoping to see if i could replace the LED's if they were cooked, but what i found was that the circuit board that the LED's were mounted on had a burnt spot where water had acted as a jumper between the +- copper traces. I thought about soldering some jumpers to see if I could shade-tree a repair but abandoned it due to the size of the traces. The issue is that the inner part of the light is supposed to be sealed inside the outer bezel, but if there are any gaps in the adhesive, this will allow water to enter the inner part of the light and short the circuit board traces and ****, no joy. Water could and probably does enter with the bed lights that are open to the inner sealed portion of the light. Best fix would be to ensure that water does not enter the light housing AT ALL, thus I ran a bead of exterior grade clear silicone around the bezel between it an the cab. Will let you know if this works longer term. BTW, the new light fits as poorly as the original and doesn't fully seat against the cab due to the flex in the mounting points where the screws go into the cab. I have no doubt that water would at least get into the outer part of the light...who knows if it would drip down or fill up to the point of getting to the PC board via the bed light sockets. I figure it's best to try to keep water out of anything behind the light, including the rear cab roof. What it really needs is a 1/4" gasket that mounts in between the light and the cab to seal moisture out. If the silicone doesn't work, next stop will be to get some thick rubber gasket material and cut it 1/8" outside the outer profile of the bezel and 1/4" inside and silicone both sides of this between the light and the cab. The silicone was a PITA trying to get it to look better than some schlock bathtub job and cleanup even after it was cured was pretty messy.

I just noticed one of my leds is out.

Sounds like it's time for a trip to the dealer, NM156. What's your Raptor's model year/mileage?

Will ford fix these even without warranty? I have an 11 scab w/ 46k miles...

Hi james.alan.18041,

I recommend reaching out to your dealership's service manager; they're in the best position to make warranty decisions. Once you've had them diagnose this for you, I'll be able to look into some options to assist.

Thanks for responding, NM156! Let me know how things go at the dealer; I'll continue to monitor this thread to see if you need my help.

Well made it to the dealer finally on the 9/22 for an oil change and the brake light issue. When I got there the one bad bulb was working and I was thinking oh great, but then the light quickly faded and then went out.

The dealer didn't have one is stock so I am waiting for the item to arrive. On a positive note, they are going to replace it under warranty. Will update when finished.

Hey NM156,

Thank you for the update! I'm happy to connect you with your regional customer service manager, who can look into expediting the part. Just send over a PM with your full name, phone number, VIN, and the dealer's name.

I'm on this.

Todd
