Third brake light

Ok I just got my truck inspected and they failed it for third break light my question is. Is that just the 3 red LEDs on the bottom of the light as the rest of it is white? One of the lights comes on but not ever with the breaks.

I've heard of moisture issues before, getting into that light and causing corrosion. May just need a replacement light housing. The 3 small LED's should be on any time you have your headlights or running lights on. When you brake, those 3 lights get brighter.

When your headlights and running lights are OFF, the only shine when you hit the brakes. Do you see them, even dim, when the parking lights are on?

The large light is a white cargo light.

I had mine burn up when I was down in Texas. It was covered under warranty. I see you have a 2012, you should be covered

yea it was under warranty I got it fixed sucks that you can't change out the led's but I am going to silacone it to keep water out of it. it had water standing in it. I know it's been raining alot here but it stays in the garage when I'm not at work very bad design if you ask me.

Can you guys post pictures of your third brake light silicone DIY installation? I don't have issues, and prefer doing this before any issues do occur......

Why the hell was yours under warranty and mine wasnt? It was like $120 I think

I got my 2011 scab about three weeks ago and the LEDs aren't lighting up at all in mine. Is there a fuse or something I should check first? All other brake lights work and the cargo light works, just not the three LEDs.

I've looked briefly online at replacements bc I'd like to go with a blacked out look anyway. Any recommendations for a good replacement?
