I thought axle wrap was less when the rear shocks were opposed to one another? This is why ford switched them from the Gen1 design.

Maybe I'm calling it wrong. Its when I hit bumps and the rear end kicks out. Worse than anything else I've owned but somehow normal for a modern truck with high performance suspension.

Bummer. Go drive a few at the dealer and see if they are the same, of course they will probably have 48 psi in the tires. Lots of Raptors running around Houston, maybe someone will swap trucks with you for a day, or let you take it around a block or two.

I know exactly what you mean by feeling every imperfection though, my wife's SUV w/ 22's is exactly the same, horrible. It's beautiful and badass, but I don't like driving it at all. It feels like a damn 3/4 ton truck w/ 80 psi.

I would think with those pressures it should ride like a cloud of *******, on the road. Mine are close to that and I have no complaints.

Yeah I need to compare to another Raptor. Would really answer a lot.

This is normal on any live axle vehicle. You just have to let the Rap do its thing. I found the old Fox Body Mustangs way worse than the Rap but I do acknowledge the Rap rear suspension is low tech. Really low tech. But it does work for what it needs to do.

Mine used to do that same before I changed out to Deavers in the rear. With my engine mods, the rear would break out just getting off an exit ramp trying to beat traffic, was very annoying. Deavers fixed most of it. Ride was also helped when I swapped everything out to King shocks. Rides like a cloud both on an off-road now.

All Gen 2 Raptors rear leaf springs suck. Mine kicked out and jumped all over. Changed to ICON leafs, which removes the rear block and added the ICON bump stops and it handles like a dream now. Actually makes me notice the front falling behind now. I could not be happier with my rear ICON leafs. I was at off road expo yesterday and they ICON guys told me to wait till Black Friday and all there stuff is going on sale. So if you want ICONs wait a few, but well worth it. BTW I hammer my truck out here in So Cal so I can attest to rear in the desert and on road. On road, no more of that weird kick out float when hitting a bump in a sweeping turn or on the highway.

I know people may be tired of me saying this, but if you air down it will change everything. To me it is lame to spend $ 70K and a truck and not buy a decent air compressor and take the "time" to air down and up. I guess complaining is easier than actually airing down. Until you air down to under 18, you really shouldn't complain about how the truck doesn't work right.

It’s a Raptor, not a Cadillac. My buddy sells Fords and that’s who I bought mine from. I asked him when I bought it; “why are there used 18’s on lots if these are so coveted?” He said it’s because people buy them not realizing they don’t ride as smooth as a lot of other trucks. They get them and THEN decide they don’t like the ride quality.

I have no issues with how it rides. Love this thing.
