Well, this is my opinion. So you can take it with a grain of salt or shove it up your buddy's ass for all I care.

I think that if the Born In Baja truck had a frame bent even with its amazing upgraded suspension means our Raptors are even more vulnerable. I'm not saying this is a flaw. I'm not saying this is an issue. I'm just asking for some ******* opinions.

What the **** is the problem?

I can tell you this – I did my Outlaw Bump Stop Kit when my Raptor was a few days old. I’ve been around off road all my life. I've had my Raptor almost 3 months and it just turned 9k and I've been to Death Valley twice on two day Raptor runs with multiple Raptors and I've been to (4) one day trips to Barstow with other friends with Raptors and within our group of now (9) Raptors. I have met four Raptor owners that have had severe bent frames. It is true and if you push it past its limits – it will bend! Just like if you throw it into a ditch at high speed something is going to give in the front end as well. Be smart and drive it within it limits and you should be fine. What are it limits? If you are getting thrashed around in the seat then most likely you’re thrashing your Raptor beyond its limits. If you re-valve your shocks and install a bump kit like I did you can get a smoother ride off road and raise that threshold of when the Raptor is being abused. Same with putting on aftermarket shocks, all you are doing is improving its ability to absorb bigger bumps, whoops and jumps without abuse. Everything has its limits, learn from others and enjoy one of the finest production trucks ever available to the public.

I think Aaron419 says it best… Something has to give in a hard rear end impact… Think of your safety – if a Cement Truck were to rear end you – would you rather live through it and be able to look back and see your frame bent and your bed destroyed – rather than the other?

its the baja 1000..... i bet 99% of those trucks come out with more damage than a slight bend in the frame that can easily be fixed.

thats my opinion. no need to get all excited here bud

Yeah, I've seen pics of all sorts of carnage from the 1000 and other races like the Dakar. If you play off road, something will eventually break, if people aren't prepared to deal with that, it's not the game for them.

Nope, it doesn't change anything. The responses I've seen show that they know the frame can bend there, and that they decided that would be more beneficial than some other key component that would keep you from limping home breaking and stranding you.

I've run mine pretty hard and not had an issue. It boils down to limitations of the stock design again, and it looks like even the Ford guys exceeded it. The truck is confidence inspiring enough to get you in trouble if you don't stay in control of your pace and/or prerun your route first.

If someone took a Ferrari out on a track and tweaked it somehow, would they blame Ferrari? To me it boils down to people not taking responsibility for their own actions.

It's not a Trophy Truck....treat it like one and it'll be more than happy to show you where it doesn't stack up against one, like the frame.

:shitsweak: all i know is if the truck did have a bent frame an still managed to pull off a good finishing time like it did that makes it more impressive to me that even with a bent frame but still preformed ......same story as always things got its limitations treat it with respect an drive within reason

These are the kinds of posts I was hoping for.

I'm not excited. I'm a bit annoyed if we can't take a topic like this seriously. I said it was beaten to death already and asked for some simple clarification on the subject...

If you don't want to take the subject seriously and think about it critically then why even chime in?

Except for the fact the truck in the pic you posted is not the race truck. It's one of the pre production Raptors. I would imagine that all the suspension components are stock on that truck.

It is what it is. I beat the **** out of mine and it went back into shape with a few metal frame mounts. If I drove any other stock truck like I have this truck I highly doubt it would be close to the condition this thing is in after 60,000 miles!! I don't hold accountable for anything that went wrong with my truck. I know the risk I run of breaking my truck every time I go out .

The Born in Baja Truck was definitely not a stock production truck. The truck in OP was a chase vehicle that spent the majority of the time on side roads. Just watch the video to get a better insight of the Raptor development and plus it's cool to see how the Raptor came into develpment.
I too, am like the OP states "neutral" on this subject. If you abuse your vehicle, be prepared to pay. On the other hand if I would ever to bend my frame and I know I didn't abuse it I would surely change my opinion very fast.
I would think Ford would re-think the placement of the crush zone, but i'm not engineer either so what I think really doesn't matter to them.
