From what I've seen mudlfaps greatly cuts down on it.
It's one of the few things I'm considering buying.
Driving on snowy roads, the fronts will throw snow/slush up past the front driver/passenger windows through that gap between the running board and the front fender.
Though, at the last snowball, it was so cold there was no ice build up, just packed snow dust.
Also, every time you stop, hop out and clear the snow off of the tail lights-especially if you have no rear-facing ambers.
The 3rd brake light is hard to see through snow dust, and, if you're a snowmobiler it looks a lot like the tail light of a sled off in the distance when it's actually the truck right in front of you. That through me off and I ended up right on Greg's ass a couple of times when I didn't mean to.
