While I accept that stuff will happen to a truck I take offroad, I'd prefer to avoid damage if at all possible.

The whole road where that happened was just incredibly icy.

3 that I know of.
1 mirror
1 drive shaft (Roush test truck)
1 slight front end damage, needed a tow.

Really other than that most guys that slid off were recovered with no problems or damage. The run is relatively safe.
The truck nannies make it tough to wipe out. If your nervous or uncomfortable at first leave traction control on. As your confidence builds, change it to sport mode.
