And this was the app that you use on your tablet, right? I have got to get this app and start using it. I subscribed to your GPS unit solution thread, I'll go back and read through it. I so wish i was tracking the section i ran with the small group out from the dry lake bed. Thanks for the map BigJ.

And looking at your map, I really, really want to go back out to that second section and just run, looks like lots of trails to go play on! I'm thinking November. :head3:

Yep, and no. I don't use the tablet anymore VG, and the thread you reference will explain why. By all means fire away with any questions on that score.

But yes that track was generated using the same app; Backcountry Navigator Pro running on my Android phone instead of the tablet. It worked great, as you can see.

Hopefully the track helps next time! Always carry a paper map and compass with you no matter what, but I do love having BCN running especially when its a track I've ran/recorded before. Lots of fun not worrying about missing a turn... just follow the little line.

AH CRAP! Is that what happened to you?! Some of us thought you took off early, but later we heard from a ranger where we had lunch that you were looking for us.

Yeah when took off I followed the trail that whent along the power lines. Got kinda of gnarly I think that is where I lost u guys . But I did find 2nd part of trail, right the end of it a rock punctured my tire. Put on my spare then blew my other tire on Sunday. Had a lot of fun I hit 100mph on dirt for the first time!

Right on!

But let me put on my nag hat for a second... stick with us next time buddy! Or at the very least, let one of the organizers know you're headed off. There's a 'leave no one behind' rule in these types of situations, and there were a few nervous minutes there after you didn't turn up and before someone said they saw you jump out ahead. We just don't want anyone to end up lost or have a bad experience, ya know?

I'm glad to hear all is (relatively) well and that ya had fun! 100mph in the dirt aint no joke is it? Feels like 150+ on pavement. :headbang:
