Why? The 11-14 6.2 Raptors are bulletproof. Look at the ecoboost community and most are experiencing buyer remorse.

haven’t searched the local forums for problems have you? Lots of Gen1 trucks with problems - and of course, they’ve been out for 7 years. Are they more or less represented than my own hyperbitchy 2nd gen tribe? Impossible to say from postings on the internet.

If you thing the G1 raptor is bullet proof, I have more than a few items that would disprove your assertion quite literally. Show up with your rap, I’ll disprove that they’re bullet proof.

come with another ride though, the truck will be scrap once your false assertion is disproved.

trying to convince yourselves the 2014 is better than a 2017 in *any* way is laughable.

2014 A/C seats are better than 2017 A/C seats.

2014 upfitter switches can handle more current than 2017 upfitter switches.

Being 100% honest here- the ONLY thing the 2017 has that I wish mine had is the grab handle on the drivers a-pillar. I really miss that from my old truck.

You're grasping here. I run a 42" light bar, compressor, multiple recon lights, and a train horn. I have two switches free too.

The seats are ice cold how much colder do you want?

I think he means you can run all that stuff without relays. Btw what good is 2 more switches if they are not being used [emoji23]

Is this how it all went down at the Ford dealerships last summer? But in all honestly, the only real improvements are the new interior, the 10-speed (somewhat, because I would have been happy with 8; 10 is just over-kill for an off-road truck), and the new shocks. This engine is NOT an improvement - it's borrowed tech from other models slapped on with 2 turbos. There's a reason other major Raptor competitors have stuck with NA engines. I'm talking the new Patrol, the OLD Patrol (which you Americans don't even get), the new Land Cruisers, the OLD LCs (which you American's don't get anymore either; we still get the J70 out here in an NA V6 config). ALL desert worthy and reliable mass produced vehicles are NA engines. Not turbo-ed. Not SCed.

Ford chose the current configuration for the Raptor to make it more road-worthy, not better at what it was, so stop trying to convince yourselves that just because you went out and bought a Jenny, you have the best of the best. Ford tricked you. Get over it.

P.S. Iraq really never had any WMDs. And Assad is really not a bad guy. I know many Syrians out here. Don't drink the Kool-Aid. But BE AWESUM!

Also, to be really honest, I don't even off-road THAT much. I do have most of my '14s 47k KMs (~30k miles) as a DD and I seldom use it as a work truck. I would actually even think of 'downgrading' to the '17 Raptor 'cause I wouldn't mind some more MPGees and a nicer interior. Indifferent about the tech and the slight increase in acceleration though. Being objective is tough, isn't it?
