I cant believe I was so bored I read this entire thread and as a result I think my IQ may have dropped drastically. I'll save my opinion for a true test when the truck actually comes out. Jesus Christ people stop feeding the troll! You may say you're not a troll but if you read the entire thread as I just did..... holy shit you are the biggest troll I've seen on this forum in a long time. So you like the Gen2. Good for you but stop stating how its going to blow the doors off the Gen1 when it hasn't even been out to compare. All you have is numbers on a piece of paper to stand on. The Gen2 may very well destroy the Gen1 but nobody knows that yet. Also your statement of Gen2 always being better is laughable. There are plenty of Gen2s out there that were flat out terrible.

This is the '17 board. All I've made are positive comments about the all new military grade Gen II Raptor with the 3.5 Ecoboost engine. How am I a troll by simply stating what's great about the new truck? I'll never go into the older gen I board telling them how ****** their trucks are now that the new Gen II is around the corner. I'd never do that.

Lol "military grade aluminum" no such events beast exists, marketing hype lol

It sounds good doesn't it? Even if it turns out not to be military grade, it's still 500 lbs lighter than the outgoing Gen I truck. And given the new engine has more hp AND torque, power:weight is huge.

No it doesn't, I happen to have been in the army for the last 8 years and have never heard of any such ******** because where lives are concerned we don't trust aluminum, it's all steel.

Well thank you for your service. My wish is that you had better leadership at the federal level. Hopefully that will change for the better going forward.

This isn't about my service, it's about the fact that to my knowledge no such beast as military grade aluminum exists, that was a move simply for fuel economy, not performance or Durability.

No.... you just go into a 17 thread on a raptor forum and talk shit about Gen1 owners and their trucks and how sad we'll be when our trucks get blown away by gen2 trucks that if I can recall aren't even out yet. Dude you are the definition of a troll and unfortunately we are all feeding you so we are as much to blame. I hope you enjoy your Gen2 when its available but until then get the **** out.

I like feeding this troll, at the end of the day, he doesn't own one, and I own a pretty highly modified gen 1 that has proven itself by taking a shit ton of absolute abuse.

Just saw this about feeding it. I just posted a plea on one the other thread to not feed the trolls. Please stop feeding them. I'm begging you.

The whole "military grade" aluminum is a hype phrase used to describe the aluminum. The only reason why they had to use it is because Chevy kept attacking them with their commercials with their "high strength steel" vs aluminum cages. The average consumer probably doesnt realize Fords frames are in fact steel with aluminum body panels unlike chevy which is steel frame and heavier steel panels. The funny part about all of that is Chevy is rumored to go to aluminum just like Ford in the near future.

Cant help to wonder since the Gen II is not a real Raptor and is hated by Gen I owners so much if we dont need to just start a Gen II forum somewhere else. We say "hey we are not going on the Gen I boards to claim how crappy the Gen I is" and they say "Its the Raptor forums" even though we are on the Gen II board. Its been pretty funny to watch, but its increasingly an annoyance. Mods really need to cool down things and put the kibosh on the cross board bashing.
