You're partially correct. You are allowed to carry a pistol with you at all times in your vehicle in Texas without a CHL because a vehicle is considered an extension of your home. That being said, you are correct that it must be out of plain sight, notifying the officer, etc.

You also cannot let someone else drive your vehicle (ie. valet) if they have access to your weapon.

You are correct you can carry in your home, car, & work without a licnese. Effective 9/2007. Now I have not heard of a law saying you cannot let someone else drive?? Now, its not smart.

A good idea if you don't want a "holster" always in your truck:

Interesting holster. How does that work exactly?

You are absolutely right. I meant center console. My mistake.

Opening the center console would make for a slow deployment - not good enough for a car jacking secenario.

My solution is a Bond Arms derrenger loaded with .410 shotgun shells in their Driving Holster. That puts two 000 Buckshot rounds on your belt to the left of the belt buckle on your pants with the muzzle pointed at the driver's side door. The truck's lap belt goes underneath, so the gun is completely unobstructed. It's a fast, devastating response to a car jacking attempt.

kinda off topic and I apologize in advance but how would you mount a m4 and a 12 gauge pump UNDER the flip up seat on the drivers side?

Love the ideas have anyone who has been carrying in there truck been worried about wearing a hole in the leather.I have had my truck for about a year and everywhere i go i carry in the 4:30 5 o clock position and have been noticeing a indention where my glock rides, and have been worried it might poke a hole through that perferated leather.anyone else have this issue.i like to keep the gun on me at all times, but i may have to take a serious look at one of your guys options.
