looks like fun! I'm bummed that I had to bail on it this time around. (couldn't spare the time. prepping for a baja trip) Looks like they changed a few of the turns and rerouted away from some of the culverts. I saw on IG that payton went full retard and broke his truck again. :33::GetMoney:

They had to do substantial modifications due to the rain. Unfortunately just about every jump was a nosedive; think I was the only one that managed to avoid slamming down actually.

Looks good. I'm assuming they rented you the camera? How many laps did you take?

Got a guys weekend coming up, do they require helmets?

This was taken using my phone and Harry's lap timer. They require DOT helmets and a fire extinguisher. They have one prerunner day a month, schedule is posted on their facebook page.

You can rent or use an xgps160 for lap timing/analytics at the track. For mx/sx this is what is used for lap timing at the park.

The prerunner track is variable, based on conditions. IIRC it is a 12 mile full loop and they can shorten it to 5-7 miles if parts of the track are too wet or are under construction.

The prerunner track is also a work in progress. I think the amount of effort that continues to be put into lengthening it will really depend on attendance for the truck/prerunner days.

Correct on all fronts. They did their trial run back in August, which unfortunately I missed because I was sick. They tried to do their official launch in September, and were rained out two weeks in a row that month, then every month thereafter. In December they had about 40 of us ready to rock, but rain the night before meant the track was too muddy to run and so we got postponed to yesterday.

You can see in my video that the parts in the trial run were still underwater. The plan is to have 12 miles of track, but they had to improvise yesterday due to how wet things still are. The owners are very open to feedback (actually just got done talking with them about improvements) and I have high hopes for the place.

I really enjoy Rally Ready, but Texplex is already (IMO) a better place to run, and is cheaper too. When they implement the improvements we've suggested, it will be - dare I say it - perfect for a track day. Price is reasonable too.

Texplex looks painful :D

I'll probably make it a point to try it out sometime.

As far as improvements are concerned, you recommending more raptor appropriate jumps?

Here's the relevant bit I sent to Billy:

Cons:
- Most, if not all the 'jumps' were nosedives, which are very hard on our trucks. The built rigs won't have as much problem with these, and like them to some degree, but most trucks, especially stock trucks, don't do well with these at all. I was one of the few people that came out completely unscathed from these, several friends had slight damage (fenders knocked out of alignment, dented skids, needing chiro appointments, etc) from hitting these too fast. Unlike other offroad vehicles, these trucks are front heavy, and struggle to take 5500 lbs of weight all on the front two shocks. This is rough on the people and the truck, and provides a lot of opportunity for newer and more experienced drivers to really mess up their trucks. I'd recommend these being marked much more prominently, with most being removed or adjusted. You can refer to my video to see all the ones I slow down for - you'll notice most I take at 20mph or less, with only one or two me speeding up for to actually jump.
- Markers need to be bigger - they were hard to see sometimes.
- Some of the turns were a bit sharp for our trucks, but I know you were having to use some of the old park.
- The crossing starting here: https://youtu.be/4yayW2suk2U?t=224 was blind and always a bit nervewracking. Actually it quite frightened my coworker John, as he made the turn straight into another truck on one of his runs. As you can see in my video, you cannot see if anything is coming until you make the turn into traffic. I know this was a workaround, but I think removing this part should be prioritized.

That's my thoughts. Removing the nosedive areas, making some of the turns bigger, and removing the crossroads would really bring out the best in this particular layout. I would love to see some longer stretches where you could really open it up (even more), but I understand most of those areas are waterlogged at the moment.
