One other thing to look out for is the screen itself. Most tablets don't handle glare well and glare is particularly bad on an infotainment screen. I've also noticed that the PX6 is pretty much black out when viewed through sunglasses. I believe this has to do with polarity. You can get anti-glare screen films to fix these issues, but that also diminishes the resolution of the screen.

Anyway, it would be nice if the screen was actually built for a auto environment rather than a general tablet screen.
I completely agree. Antiglare would be great. I have used the antiglare screen protector in the past, may use it again.

This one looks like the ticket - the 2 must haves for me are retain sync 3 and retain OEM climate knobs. This does both like the Phoenix that i currently have. Wondering if there is a scaling button - when they show the video it is chopped on both sides since the tablet is vertical.

It appears to have a scaling adjustment like a youtube video. I noticed on the final part of the installation video that there appears to be an adjustment scaler on the bottom right of the video (24:47) and I can't recall where, but I saw another video where the operator went from windowed to full screen mode which clipped the edges on the 14.5 inch screen. The operator was using VLC Player. There are other android players as well.

I would verify with the seller, but I assumed it could be adjusted so as to operate within the width of the 14.5 inch screen and also split screen. From my experience with VLC player it does have scaling. Here is information on the Android VLC Player:

Here is the installation video.....

I see they installed the supplied microphone. They claim the unit works w/ the factory mic. I wonder (emailed them of course) if the factory mic works to control the unit in total or just in sync 3.

I also have no plans on installing the 4G accessories. Hopefully shipping is quick, I'm pretty hype about it.

I have the same questions about the mic. I really don't want to install another mic...

Same here... I need Sync 3/OE independant physical HVAC controls and unhindered Fordpass. A plus would be a HD reverse camera although having something like that and still integrate with the 360 view is probably a pipe dream.

There are a few people who have already installed the F150 units discussing and showing pictures on the facebook group called "Tesla Style. Firmware and HeadUnits." Here are some pics from their postings.

Looks like I'll plan on installing the supplied mic.

"The factory mic will not work w/ this unit because you retain the oem radio in this install"

I have the same questions about the mic. I really don't want to install another mic...

This obviously wouldn't apply to everyone, but I had a new audio system put in, so the center channel speaker was dead. I removed it and then used that space for the mic. completely hidden by the center speaker grille. Works just fine with the PX6 mic.

Even if you still use the center speaker, you could probably drill hole and keep the mic behind that grille.
