Taking my truck to Work?

Somehow "Walmart" and "Bentley" just don't seem to go together.

For a long time there were no box stores or decent shopping within DC itself because... well, let’s just say that ’swamp’ is a generous descriptor. So all the city folk would flee their homes on weekend mornings to the exclusive suburbs and flood us with their unwashed peasantry. Even the effete RR pilots have to hit up some place for prescriptions. It does make for some Kodak moments in the parking lots.

it wouldn't matter if it was a brand new Prius - people that have the mind set that you got a promotion and now have a new car and therefore must be rubbing it in my face you smug ****** are going to have that jealous perspective no matter what you do/have.

30 in a position where everyone under me is a lot older and those before me were at least 20 years older than me. Thats one stigma I came in with but I have already overcome it.

The reason I asked your age is because my response would be quite different if you were 40+ with 20 years of supervisory/life experience. You're a newer and younger Supervisor, so your concern makes sense to me. I'm also going to guess that you were one of their peers not too long ago?

From someone in their mid-40's, the one thing I've learned in life, is that I don't give two crapolas what anyone else thinks about me. If you don't like what I have to say, don't listen. If you don't like how I look, don't look. And if you don't like the car I drive, grow up. LOL

You should be proud of where you are in life and stop worrying about what other people think.

Every where Ive worked, My co workers have had those opinions and then their work value usually goes down. If I had NEVER seen someone lose motivation from seeing what their boss does with their money then I would have never brought it up. Yeah they eventually get over it but Ive worked where it just takes one negative person to bring down the rest of the team, Just because of the opinions they have. Especially if its an old timer who is already leading the team.

Based on everything you've said so far, this concerns me more than anything. Based on your comment about your staff loosing production and morale because of what you drive, you have much bigger issues under the surface. You should do a little root cause and determine why there production and moral drops based on what the boss does with his or her money. From my perspective, you have have some major morale issues within your workplace.

If I were you, I would stop spending so much time worrying about what your employees think about you and how you spend your money, and spend more time working with your staff to break through the real issues you're having with your teams.

Sup everyone! So i recently purchased a 2020 Leadfoot and loving it so much, but I have yet taken it to work. I am a manager where I work and I am also new here. Been working here for little over a month now.

I would love to bring my truck to work but I feel like my workers would definitely change their attitude towards me. First off, I am not an ******* and I carry my weight around here pretty well. I get dirty with the rest of them. So I feel like I am making good head way with my team.

I just don't want to be that stigma of "OH! hes got raptor money, hes definitely making way more than us! so EFF him!" I have had bosses with really nice cars, but they also pulled their weight, so I never saw them like that. I am new to the manager world, so i would like some input.

Anyone else have this situation?

I just think it petty and sad that you or people you work with might feel this way. I appreciate you being considerate of others but this is taking it so far over the reasonableness line it just saddens me to think people in society are so jealous or "stuff" concience that it would make a dang bit of difference.
