Tailgate Assist

Just ordered a 2013 this week and as I was reading the specs I saw listed "tailgate assist" on the 2013's. I was going to order a Dee Zee EZ Down tailgate assist but is it possible that these are now standard on 2013's?

By the way, got 300 under invoice but I buy alot of F-150's from my dealer from work (like over 20 the past two years!).

Not aware of this...verbally make sense..but knowing FORD...
its probably the stripper pole (tailgate step handle).

Could be...the Dee Zee unit is pretty trick and is only $20 or $30 bucks so no big deal if Ford is referencing the grab pole. It's by far the cheapest mod I'm looking at!

By the way, ordered SuperCrew in Black with everything except tailgate step and beadlocks.

As far as I know it is not something new. I think they are referring the torsion spring to take weight away from the gate to assist in closing the gate

Yep. I have it on my 2012... but I am still ordering the 3rd party strut.

OK, I just read it again and under standard equipment it lists "tailgate with lift assist..."

I saw on another forum that it's a torsion spring as FordFan mentioned and has been around for a while.

I will definitely get the Dee Zee unit....it's a pretty cheap mod that works pretty cool!
