2022 Raptor with Basic F-150 Tailgate???

The "F-150" tailgate with Raptor badge (as imaged by the OP) is the one that often came during the COVID shortage (I believe it affected mostly 2022 trucks but also 2023).

Again, this has nothing to do with being a "base model" or not having certain options. I have no idea where that nonsense is coming from (it might have been true on Gen 2 Raptors but isn't on Gen 3s). It was due 100% to a shortage during production and could affect the highest trim Raptor available.

It’s not really nonsense:

-Base model 800a does not come with the tailgate appliqué.

-801a comes with tailgate appliqué, and has a no cost option to remove it. (The option to remove it was forced on some during 2022/2023 during shortages).

My tailgate appliqué just came in and I was told they can install it either by cutting holes into my tailgate for the clips or cut the tabs off the appliqué and use 3m tape. I’m leaning more towards the 3m option, has anyone else gone either route?

I ordered mine specifically with it deleted. I just thought it looked cleaner. It seems like I'm definitely in the minority though. Hard to believe a super normal guy like me would have different tastes!!

Meh it’s better than the big think of plastic that just waiting to fall off. All of mine have always had it and they always seem to be pulling apart at the double sided tape they use.

The piece being plastic is what I didn't like, with it being so big. If it was something like an aluminum magnetic gray anodized or Powdercoat I would like it.

I am considering this Raptor and the dealership tells me it was because of Covid supply chain issues and certain Raptors were delivered with the standard F-150 tailgate in lieu of the correct Raptor appliqué one.

Is this accurate?
Can I easily retrofit it with the correct appliqué, to the existing tailgate?
If so, for approx. how much would you say?

Thank you for posting the part number I’ve tried getting the part number but the dealerships I contacted didn’t want to give it to me. Planning on ordering the tailgate appliqué and taking off the after market one I bought. No problem. Not sure why dealers wouldn't provide the full thing...
