Hock, one question. When you say change the filter and add a quart, do you mean to just drain a quart and add a new one?

No what is in the filter thats is... So, most the filters have a quart in them unless you got them small ones...

humvee yes i currentl use mobil ! full syn and mobil 1 filter . next time around i may use all amsoil or just stay with the mobil 1.

I have used Amsoil oil and filter in mine since it was new (600 miles) and run it 5k change filter and top off then run 5k more. Have been doing this for over 20 years now with all of my vehicles.

Could care less that I could run it a lot more---makes me feel better plus have never had an engine related issue other than a factory defect in my last Chevy 6.2 in over 20 vehicles.

I like Mobil 1 but it has dino in it---still it is one of the best there is just not the best.

Mobil 1 5w-20 and Mobil 1 filter. First change at 1,000 miles, all subsequent changes at 6,000 intervals. I think it's what you do to take care of a world class vehicle. It's certainly what I do to take care of my dream truck.

i was told that once you change to synthetic you should never change back. is that true?
