Yeah but the issue some are having is errors just extracting the zip. I just ended up getting the 3.4 file from the f150 forum and installed it since I was already on an older version of 3.3. The 3.4.zip extracted and installed as expected no problem.

I really can't elaborate on the extracting issues as they are local issues. Meaning, it really has nothing to do with the type of browser you use. (Chrome, Firefox, ect.) It has to do with the type of compression and the decompression tool being utilized. ZIP normally works great with Windows, since the OS has a built-in utility for zip. The qz, normally are meant for Linux based OS, like MAC or Ubuntu.

Unfortunately, I did not keep some of data I was reading, but I do remember the following:

1 - Once decompressed, ONLY the decompressed upgrade software should be on the USB drive. Additionally, it should be on the root, and NOT within a folder. This makes it easier for SYNC to locate it.

2 - The format of the USB is significant. The USB format is ExFat.

If and when I find those details, I'll post them.

It’s exFAT. Yeah the problem is one file in the package not decompressing properly for some people. I followed the directions to a T for both Mac and PC, but nothing worked. Can’t explain it. I followed the instructions for 3.4 and it all went smoothly. The only thing was that I tried a USB3 drive first and Sync said it wasn’t compatible. A USB2 drive worked fine.

You don’t extract or expand the files in the sync my ride folder. The install does that. Leave them as tar.gz. And the format for the usb is FAT32

The Ford website explicitly says exFat, not Fat32. You might want to edit your post, and not add to the confusion.

Anyway, I tried both, neither worked.

Alright so it corrects some Waze issues and makes the screen blue. What else? Seems like a lot of work for just those two things. Anyone have a comprehensive list of changes?

if you use 7zip ( free) instead of the preinstalled windows decompression utility, it will unzip error-free.

Tried 7zip, still comes up with errors when unzipping. The sync files were created/modified by Ford on 1/3/20. The zip file name is JR3t-14G381-AS.zip. I am wondering if the guys that got it to work are maybe working on a different sync update, maybe the latest one for my particular truck is just buggy? I am no computer wiz, but I was able to successfully update my sync last year at some point and remember it going without issue.

It would probably be helpful if everyone had the model year of the their truck in profile somewhere in the post, so we can get a handle on this. Just wishful thinking.

yeah, I'm still getting errors too. It looks like a problem with the compression algorithm that was used. The "81" file errors at 138MB. The "91" file errors immediately.

Both are intended to unpack to about 417MB.

When will Ford hire software engineers from this millennium? I feel like I'm stuck trying to install linux in 1999.

Edit: same issue with trying to unpack the files for my 2019 superduty and my 2018 raptor.

Well, judging by the way the "bullets" are arranged on the Ford Pass website, the whole mess may need to be overhauled.
