Sync 3.4 Update

I had to ensure that I formatted exFat on a usb drive. Lat time I formatted 16gb to make sure that I had with space but didn’t do full 64gb of drive. I downloaded everything. I extracted the files from computer straight to the usb drive. I noticed that one file some how did not make it still, so I copied that file over manually. Make sure that all files are there as Ford indicated. Then i plugged in my usb and it finally took.

How did you get passed the error on USB plug in? I have a 2017 and cant get past the SYNC 3.0 update so I downloaded the cyan loader and no matter what I did, it kept giving me an error when I plug it in to the truck. Trying to manually load the files now.

On my 2020 I already had 3.4 from the start. Are there any difference from previous build of 3.4 vs this one?

No, and yours will auto-update or you can check for updates. Need to be home and connect the truck to your wifi. This is for those of us who have 3.0-3.3.

Also, the USB I sent to a member worked perfectly for him too, so that's 3 trucks now that are done with it. I'll have it back tomorrow. If anyone wants to do theirs, shoot me a PM and I'll overnight it to you with an overnight label. Cost round trip is about $30.

Out of curiosity, why do people pay for the updates? They're free to download and put on your own USB thumb drive. Even if you don't have a USB thumb drive and need to go buy one, there's no way it would cost $30 (plus you'd get to keep the thumb drive for other things when you're done with the Sync update). Am I missing something?!?

Well, that's exactly what I did. It's a HUGE dump of files (30gig) and took a while to download and what not. Even in my office with gigabit it took an hour or so to download it all. Maybe some guys don't feel like bothering with it? I'm making ZERO money here, just cover shipping which is a great rate as I have a UPS discount/biz account.

Assuming this update will screw up my FORSCAN changes on the display? Maybe reset everything back to stock, do the update and then make changes again?

If you have 3.4 installed, I'm not sure where the dead end is...
