I haven't had any problems switching my tunes and I never restore it to stock in between tunes I just go from one to the next. So is this a must do thing switching to stock before putting a new tune on??

I did a test a few days ago comparing fuel economy between the 87 perf and 87 econo on the same highway over a 85 mile stretch. Cruise control set the entire time both ways at 70 I got a average of 13.1 on the perf tune and 16.3 on econo tune. I didn't expect that big a difference. Btw same 85 mile stretch, just going North and south with no wind to speak of.

13.1 to 16.3 is a much bigger difference than I was expecting! I don't think I've ever got over 13 with my intake and exhaust mods. But hearing that I could get north of 15 or 16 is great! This tuner will actually pay for itself with returns like that.

Me too. Haven't been stock in over a year. I haven't changed that many times but never went back to stock when changing a tune??? Maybe Mike at 5 Star can shed some light.

Yea, after posting up the pic, I figured my explanation was way off. When you first asked, I thought you were asking about the vents by the windshield.

It was definitely bigger than I was expecting. Now don't forget those were perfect conditions with no uphill or downhill. Also I was only doing 70 on cruise control, I usually have a hard time only doing 70! But yes definitely a great gain. On long road trips I could see a huge savings using that if able to go easy on the skinny pedal!

Ive gone from performance to econo to performance with no issues. My truck hasn't had the stock tune in it since February when I bought it.

Ok I'm gonna try switching back to performance today without going back to stock and see what happens. I'll update in a few.

Ok this time I switched from econo to perf with no issues. I guess the other time it was user error.

I emailed Mike about this and he says it's not necessary.Having the battery fully charged is a good idea, this pic is from 5star on FB.
