Why do you guys still have sway bars on your trucks?

Take them off and forget about them
Educate me AII... Why are they there in the first place? What safety concerns for on road driving?

What should a newb know about disconnecting their sway, before they do it?

That's what I'm talking about!!! That was the first thing I did

Yeah, I'm not sure it's as simple as that although to some it may be. Most Raptor owners spend the vast majority of their time on-road where sway bars certainly provide benefits.

Four bolts 5 min...how much more simple can it get????

Benefits for Tim and his garage queen pavement princess that rolls over anytime it sees a hill!!!

Sway bars don't allow the front end to work like an independent suspension.

Exactly.

There shouldn't be 1 negative effect. But the + is that the truck will be more driver friendly

So now I'm curious as to why you would want it on your truck, sway bars will stop the front end from being independent, regardless if its an street queen or not. And this truck has a whooping 11 inch's of travel so why limit that

Why is it not that simple? The very 1st thing I do when I buy a truck is take off the sway bar. There is no need for one on any truck unless its lowered and you plan on running at a track or Slalom.
What benefits do you see with it on?

My suggestion is to take it off and drive the truck for a few days/weeks to see if you can REALLY tell the difference.
I'm used to driving long travel trucks on the street, so taking a sway bar off my truck is no big deal no matter how hard/fast I drive

AII, bear with me. I'm a newb to the off road world.

If its worthless, why do they come with one? Seems like it would be a way to cut some costs if they don't serve some purpose. I'm asking seriously. I honestly don't know.

My guess is legal said it had to have it.

But thats just my guess

Think about it, it may cost Ford $10-15 to put it on, but could save millions in lawsuits.

THE TANK:
That is a car, way different COG.

The higher cog will increase not decrease your tendency to roll...

Like was mentioned the main disadvantage to a sway bar is high speed cornering and low speed rock crawling... on road having it has not disadvantage...

Of note sway bars do not generally limit travel they limit articulation. You are going to have 11 inches of travel with it there or not... but with it on you cannot get one wheel to hang whilst the other one gets shoved into a wheel well... or to put it another way... a hit to one wheel will cause less wheel travel with a sway bar... a hit to both wheels simultaneously is largely unaffected.

I really have no idea what you are trying to say :).

Im going to "attempt" to respond.
Yes the COG will increase your tendency to roll, but this truck is not the height of a F250 with a 10 inch lift on it. So for you to roll you will need to be driving like a complete idiot or roll a bead, either way your screwed

If you are limiting articulation, aren't you limiting your travel? Limiting your articulation will stop your front end from dropping out, which is limiting your travel.
Then again I'm no expect in sway bars, I've never run one on any of my trucks
