I think it would be good if we condensed everyone's opinions of disconnecting their sway bars into one thread
"opinions of sway bar delete from a guy who everyone he knows describes him as "drives his raptor like it's a sportscar""
I just took my sway bar off and went around my little test loop aka some of my favorite roads to drive fast on and a little stretch of freeway, this totaled out to 26.2 miles that I ran in about half an hour, my opinions of removing it are good
The truck bobs a little bit under most driving conditions now, it's like the body is rolling on the ocean a little bit, the left side will come up and then it will flow to the other side of the truck like a wave or the right side will come up and flow the other way, and you can feel the body swaying quite a bit more through turns, if you've seen trophy trucks going through hard corners where the inside front tire nearly comes off the ground and the rear outside of the truck squats down, imagine how that would feel going through corners at speed and that's what the truck feels like with the sway bar off
But I can deal with that because the truck feels much more in contact with the road on turn in, I was going into corners much faster than I would before I took the sway bar off, and the truck would just glide through it, one turn used to be an anything over 25 mph you're gonna smoke the tires through understeer turn before I had the sway bar off, I took it at 30 and only heard a little bit of tire howl at the apex, overall I felt much more confidence in the truck's ability to take turns at speed with it off, when I first started the loop I was turning in at speeds like I use to with it on and I would end up going slightly off the road on the inside of the turns
my opinions of it in offroad conditions is that I can tell it's soaking up the little whoops in my road a lot better than it used to, and any sudden changes in the road it will not upset the entire truck anymore, the rest of the truck plows through it while the left or right side front tires and coil-overs absorb the impact
to sum up, my opinions of sway bar delete are that if you're comfortable with having the body rolling about, take it off, I think the truck is much better without it, but if you get motion sickness easily, leave it on
