I don't think disconnecting just one link is the same as removing the entire thing, or even both links, if you just remove one link then the other side is still working against the frame, although not against the other side, and I think the bar itself helps stiffen the frame, so removing it completely might allow the frame to flex a little more, best setup in my opinion is both links removed with the bar still connected to the truck but the ends cut off so they won't catch on anything
If it really does move like that (mine didn't move at all when I removed the links, not sure if the rubber bushing weren't worn out or if it got stuff in them and wedged into place) then the bar doesn't add any rigidity to the frame and you might as well just remove the entire thing since it would just be dead weight
