correct boss, the worlds best speaker will sound like crap in a poorly built box. and the worlds worst speaker will actually sound good in a properly built box.

this will be a ported box. ported boxes help with acquiring lower frequencies. in this setup i think it will achieve the sound that people are wanting

So why not put an average speaker in a great box?

This does make sense Busa...

To get the best out of what ever sub u use
great speakers cost a lot.
Sub Options r slim with the mounting depth that we have under the seats

Busa, will the system be offroad ready? Don't want to do a jump and my tunes cut out...

Also, is the box mounted to the floor? I ask b/c in the SCREW, the rear seat is NOT locked down like in the SCAB. in the SCAB, to lift the rear seat, there is a latch to release it. In the SCREW, you simply lift the rear seat, no latch. That is why I think RW hurt her back in the rear seat on the last jump. The seat let her come up, then slam back down.

fred - since space is limited under the seat, the pioneer shallow mount woofers are the best affordable option. if you arent worried about money, then you can use a jl audio woofer.

joe - these boxes will have mounting points to keep everything in place.

What kind of depth and volume are you looking at for this box? I have an SI BM MkIII that I would like to use if I bought this truck. It is a 12" woofer with 3.4" of depth and 0.5 Ft^3 airspace requirements. Do you think this would fit?

Thanks

Fred

that is pretty much the same specs at the pioneer. this particular box will have about 1 cubic ft of airspace and ported as well. this port however is tuned for the pioneer woofer so, it will most likely not be optimum for your woofer. i will look up the specs of your woofer later and get back to you regarding port size. unless you want to go with a sealed box instead

I think Audio is the one component of vehicles that I can fully admit that I know zero about. So your saying that a ported box will be better for the lower bass? Forgive me for my lack of knowledge, but I have never had a ported box so I don't know why one would be better than the other.

generally speaking as long as the box is built to spec

sealed boxes are better for sound quality

ported boxes are better for hitting lower notes and being louder

busa correct me if im wrong
