Are there any folks out there that surf fish in their Raptors? If so, what kind of rod/cooler rack do you have. I'm in a tournament this fall at Hatteras and want to get a rack for the new truck. I'm thinking it would be nice to have one that attached to the back hitch but could move out to allow the tailgate to come down. Any thoughts?

When I surf fish (Frisco, NC), I just use a PVC pipe cut about three feet long and stick that into the sand. Never used anything on my rig to hold my rod, unless you're making reference to transporting your rods to the beach. If this is the case, I just stick my rods in the back of the truck...no rod holds on the front or back of the truck. Just never liked the way that looks. Sorry if I misunderstood. I also do a lot of fishing in NC on my SUP board (Stand up paddle). Most of the time, I have an old milk crate as my tackle box which is strapped to my board and a piece of PVC pipe cut about 1 foot long and zip tie that to the milk crate which holds my rod. Works great and the milk crate holds the paddle when you're fishing. If you haven't tried fishing like this, you're missing out on a good time and great exercise. Also, you can park yourself just outside the breaker and be on top of all the fish out there. Give it a try. It beats standing on the beach....

Google: Stowaway. They make a Rod rack/Cooler rack that mounts into a 2" hitch and swings away to allow the tailgate to open.
