Looking for some advice from any and all high mileage supercharged gen 1s (or maybe even anybody who knows a lot about whipples) i recently purchased a new to me gen 1 raptor. Great truck but its recently started making some bearing noise coming from the whipple. I will be sending it out soon (80k supercharged miles) and i was talking to the supercharger rebuilder and they were saying at this mileage the rotors could need to be recoated. The price difference between bearings and bearings + coating was significant, how neccessary is this coating? I couldnt care less if im losing some efficiency but if there is a chance it can ruin the whipple ill do it. Just looking for some clarification on this as i keep finding conflicting info. Thanks!

what supercharger are you running? the coatings on the rotor packs does increase efficiency. you can run “naked” rotor. how much more is it to coat them?

Its the 2.9L whipple specifically for the 6.2L engine. Bearings (stage 1 rebuild) around 700$. Bearings + coating (stage 3) was around 2500-3500$ depending on rotor condition

Im really curious about roush blowers because it seems like there is more of them out there and high mileage ones at that. Wondering if they have to go through a similar process.
