Are the new guides a permanent fix? Or will they just break again?

All sunroofs eventually break or fail in some way. Putting a hole in the roof is the worst idea ever by car manufactures and buyers.

same here 20k. tracks broke. warranty service dept fixed in 2 days. seems to be known issue
those cheap plastic guide tracks seem very brittle

Keep anything long enough and things fail. Including engines, should we get rid of those too?

Pano sunroof on my 2018 with 30k miles decided not to open. It tries but hits a hard stop right away.

Does this mean I need a whole new pano, a new track, or will an adjustment work?

I love the big view. Will likely not get one on my next Raptor.

I spend a lot of time on unpaved roads.

Seems to be a common problem on the Ford pano - I had the same problem with my 2017 F250, finally got tired of all the small things going wrong with an out of warranty truck and traded it in on the 2018 Raptor.

LOL get used to it. My gen 1 Raptor one died out of warranty after being opened a few times. Had to pay for a new one (assy no repair) My 18 Platty F250 has one that I will not open after my buddy who has a truck almost like mine a 17 died just like my Raptor one did. Happens all the time to the new body style F250's..

I can't confirm it but my personal theory is the sunroof's rubber trim sticks/bonds together in the heat and when the motor tries to open it after a period of not use it breaks the track. I say this because when I got my truck I would open the roof and it would "pop" like the rubber was stuck together.

What I did is took some Honda Shin-Etsu grease which is what they use to lube all the rubber on the top of an S2000 and applied it to the rubber on the sunroof. Since I did this no pop. It lasts a long time. I live is Florida so it bakes those rubber bits together.

2017 Gen2 with 22K . Going in for my second repair/replace of sunroof parts. Hardly ever operate it and haven't been offroad yet.
