Anyone have a good solution for wiper blades that "stutter" (only way I can think of to describe) when used with light rain.

Had small amount of rain this morning and no matter what the setting, the blades just skip across the windshield.

Can't imagine I need new blades since truck only has 1100 miles on it and is not even 2 months old.

Windshield and wipers are not clean. Been fighting this on and off for two years, along with streaking...even with new blades.

Ended up using vinegar all over the windshield to clean it. No issues now. Make sure you clean the blades too.

Clean your glass really good and put some wax or wax alternative on the glass. I like “The Last Coat”, but Rain-X could work.

Coatings often will affect auto wipers, as myself and others have found. Would not recommend it, personally. First coating is what started my problems to begin with.

I concur with your statement. Since I had my truck coated I have had the same issue. Have tried several different wipers, Rain-X brand seems to be better but still steaks and stutters when the windshield isn't very wet and just needs a quick clean.

Mine do it a tad too if its light. I always wax the glass and use rain-x washer fluid. I barely need wipers even in moderate rain, it beads right off. I still have the factory blades on at 11k and they are working well.

I did wipe the blades and it seemed to help, although it stopped raining so hard to tell

One of the biggest pet peeves with my Raptor! From the start I had wiper chatter (skipping) but living in Sunny California not much rain so it wasn't a big deal at first.

With more rain the chatter got very annoying. I replaced the drivers side arm as it seem to be the one skipping the most. I went from conventional to the premium Motorcraft wipers with no luck. I tried other brands and it was the same. Went to Adam's for some windshield treatment and again no luck.

I finally went and tried the Rain-X Latitude wiper and that worked! No more chatter! I always felt the Rain-X wiper was a gimmick but it's been two years now with the wipers and no chatter. I tried being smart after a detail and applied some Adam's window cleaner/wax and the chatter came back... not for long though. After about 6 minutes in the rain the Rain-X wipers were quiet again.

Give them a try... you may get lucky!

I now have 9000 miles on my 18 and never had chatter. Took the Ford wipers off soon as I got home. Rain Xed my windshield and put on Rain X latitudes. Drained the washer tank and filled with Rain X washer fluid. Un In beatible and most time never have to use wipers unless traveling at slow speeds as in town. Bugs come off easier also and here in Florida-we have some bugs!
