Could the bug guard create turbulance that affects wiper blade performance?dca5e088206f972b401fcd201fd8e53e.jpg

It's not the bug guard. I dont have one and I get the chatter, too. Time to swap out blades

Replaced with Rain X at first and could not get past that "knuckle" and for me, it was an eyesore.

Took them back and went with Bosch Icons

I coated my windshield last week and now it stutters. The reason is because the coating beads all the water off so the blade is literally dragging on dry glass even when it’s pouring rain. Wax would probably have the same effect.

You can remove the coating by using window cleaner and a magic eraser.

Clean with glass cleaner, alcohol solution, then I've used revive hand polish and again hit it with the alcohol solution twice. No issues.

So the Bosch dont chatter but they leave a sponge like streak across the windshield

You need to wipe down your blades and clean your windshield

Coatings often will affect auto wipers, as myself and others have found. Would not recommend it, personally. First coating is what started my problems to begin with.
I’ve put a rain x coating on my truck then later put the Adam’s H2O guards and gloss and it didn’t seem to effect the rain sense wipers much or if at all. Couldn’t really notice a difference but I did try to avoid putting it exactly ontop of what I thought the sensors were st the top of the windshield
